Yoni ki Raat is a transformational performance project for artists of South Asian & Indo-Caribbean heritage who have been previously silenced or erased.

Yoni ki Raat is a transformational storytelling performance project for people of South Asian & Indo-Caribbean heritage who experience gender oppression. Our goal is to spark and encourage discussion of the various aspects of our lives and identities that are often silenced, and to build community as we do so. At the intersection of storytelling and movement, and at meeting point of our multiple identities, we create space to break stereotypes, celebrate our voices and empower our communities. This show incorporates monologues and movement, weaving narratives to paint a picture of our innermost stories. Yoni ki Raat will touch taboo topics, especially about our bodies, sexuality, gender and relationships, and surrender to a process of transformation. Our project is inspired by Yoni ki Baat (Talks of the Va**na) which was started by the South Asian Sisters in the Bay area and Seattle over a decade ago.
