Our awesome LitKids at Starays Junior School and Oloo Primary LitClubs spent time this week creating stories that brought friendship to life. Working together, they developed characters with different personalities and strengths and explored how those differences can come together to create meaningful friendships. Through creativity and storytelling, they are celebrating the 7 Strengths and learning to appreciate what makes each person unique! Kenya Education Fund

Our awesome LitKids at Seeds of Hope Foundation spent time this week creating Courage Jars, an activity that shows how encouraging words can give us confidence during difficult or fearful moments. With messages like “I can do everything” and “Consider yourself strong,” LitKids are celebrating the 7 Strengths of Courage, Confidence, and Kindness and learning how to share those strengths with friends, family, and their community.

At LitWorld we recognize the power of literacy to help and heal. We're making a commitment to send support to our friends and family in Colombia in the wake of the devastating earthquake on August 11th.

"Thanks to the partnership between the Rayo Museum, LitWorld, and the Normal Superior Jorge Isaacs, we are able—even during these difficult times—to reactivate our LitClubs in the shelters set up in the school's green areas. Although the school is slated for demolition due to severe structural damage, the principal and her entire teaching staff are making a heroic effort to bring the children back, as this space is essential for them.

The Rayo Museum and its reading room sustained damage that prevents us from continuing operations in that space for now; however, with the support of our key ally and through the innovation and LitClub project, we remain hopeful about moving forward." -Johanna (LitWorld Field Leader)
