"The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University is a non-governmental organization in general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), in consultative status with The United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) and affiliated to the Department of Public

Information (DPI)"

The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Univesrity earned its first affiliation with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) in 1980. The BKWSU has held consultative status with the Economic and Social Council since 1983, and General Consultative Status since 1998. The Brahma Kumaris at the United Nations works in the areas of social development, humanitarian affairs and values.
