🗣️MARK YOUR CALENDARS! DC 37 is hosting a Labor Day Celebration at union HQ to celebrate our members-- the workers who keep New York running! Join us from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 for giveaways, music, food, and lots of fun for the whole family. The first 500 members to arrive will receive a limited edition DC 37 t-shirt. Our Child Care Trust Fund provides up to $500 per member per year in reimbursement to parents and caregivers who are using a Licensed Provider such as a daycare center, group family daycare, and summer day camps ☀️🪁😎

This edition of PEPtalk, we explore behind the scenes of the HOPE count. The HOPE count is an annual, volunteer-driven survey of New Yorkers living without shelter. DC 37 member coordinators and volunteers work together, speaking with the houseless to record the yearly city-wide count. In the latest edition of PEPtalk, the New York Transit Museum workers’ productive conversations and community-building produced a unanimous vote for unionization! With a push from unionized siblings outside of the museum and assistance from DC 37’s organizers, workers overcame challenges to become one of DC 37’s newest worker collectives. Happy Fourth of July and Happy Birthday to the United States of America! This 4th of July, we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

District Council 37 and our associated funds are closed today, July 3rd, in observance of the holiday. We will reopen on Monday, July 6. From District Council 37, we wish you a happy and safe weekend.
