Thank you. 🙏 Our heroes sacrificed blood, sweat, tears, months away from home, and left their jobs and their lives to protect our tiny and beautiful country. Thousands were wounded, and will wear their scars for life. Make sure to be kind and patient with them, stand by their side, and never leave them behind! Their road to recovery and rehabilitation is a battle they will continue to fight, as the rest of the country goes back to their routine.
And 917 paid the ultimate price, and we are forever grateful. We will not forget them. 💔🙏

Incredible donors gave us the honor to hand out these comforting squish-mallows to our wounded heroes, sometimes people think it’s funny to give a kids toy to combat soldiers, but there is nothing like a moment to return to being a silly kid to being a smile to our heroes faces. 💙

חשבתי הרבה על מאיפה להתחיל את הפוסט הזה, זה לא פוסט פרידה וגם לא פוסט סיכום, זה כנראה פשוט פוסט עצירה (או הקפאה כמו שאח שלי אוהב להגיד).
אז כמה מילים לאיפה נעלמתי ואיפה אהיה בתקופה הקרובה:

לפני קצת פחות מחודש נפצעתי קשה מפיצוץ מטען בעזה. יחד איתי נפצעו עוד חמישה לוחמים. ארבעה חברים שהיו איתי בכוח נהרגו:
משה לייטר
סרגי שמרקין
יוסי הרשקוביץ
ומתן מאיר
הם תמיד יהיו בלב שלי, לא חשוב איפה אהיה.

ברגע אחד מטלטל, לאחר שהתעוררתי מארבעה ימים בהם הייתי מורדם ומונשם, הבנתי שעד עכשיו כל מה שידעתי והכרתי בגוף שלי השתנה לחלוטין.
לא לקח לי הרבה זמן להבין שסדר העדיפיות בחיי הולך להשתנות, והמטרה העיקרית בחיים שלי כרגע היא להשתקם ולהתאושש מהפציעה שלי.

בשורה התחתונה, בכאב לב, אני מעדכן שבתקופה הקרובה, הנגרייה לא תהיה פעילה.
זה עצוב ומורכב עבורי אבל אני אופטימי ומאמין בלב שלם שאני אחזור לנגריה שלי, בריא וחזק. זו המטרה שלי, האוויר שלי לנשימה ומה שמחזיק אותי בתקופה המאתגרת הזו.

Meet Jonathan (25 years old). He served in the elite Ya’halom unit, and was severely wounded in December 2023. He has undergone several head surgeries and lost a kidney. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation to learn how to speak, swallow, and eat again. We wish him a speedy recovery. ❤️‍🩹
