The Bushwick Puerto Rican Parade was a movie! 🇵🇷🔥

Imagine if the New York Knicks won the NBA Championship and the entire city came together the next day to celebrate while repping the Boricua community during its annual weekend tradition — that was the energy in Brooklyn yesterday.

Beautiful to see our people outside, enjoying the music, the food, and showing the resilience that has carried our community through tough times. Much love to Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, and all the community organizations that continue to stand up against injustice and fight for our neighborhoods. Tenants are the people who make New York City run. It’s time to make this city run for us. That starts with freezing the rent for 2.4 million tenants on one and two year leases. Over the next three weeks, the Rent Guidelines Board will be holding their borough hearings to determine what the final adjustment will be when they vote later this month. We’re packing each hearing with working tenants, from the teachers, the nurses, the artists, and beyond, and are ready to tell the RGB that the rent is too damn high and we need a rent freeze to deliver necessary relief for our neighborhoods.

🏠✊ We had another successful day of RGB Training!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, including our co-hosts and partners. We are especially grateful to Council Member Crystal Hudson and her team for helping bring tenants together to learn about the Rent Guidelines Board process, tenant rights, and how to make our voices heard.

Now we’re preparing for the next important step: the June 11 RGB Public Hearing.

If you’re concerned about rising rents, housing affordability, or conditions in your building, we want to hear from you. Join us to learn how to share your story and advocate for a future where tenants can stay in their homes.

📣 There’s still time to get involved!
📞 Contact us to learn more and join upcoming trainings and testimony support sessions.

Together, we are building tenant power and fighting for housing justice.
