To every girl… you will always be our North Star.
A year ago today, we announced that Girl Rising x She’s the First were coming together. Over the past year, we have carried the words of girls from our Girls Advisory Council into rooms of power…with our Board of Directors, our staff, our supporters and friends, and into every conversation about the future we are building with and for them. Their words have guided us through this new chapter, and will continue to shape where we go next.
They remind us what the International Day of the Girl is really about: the right to be seen and heard, to be respected and loved, to dream and to learn and believe, to have equal opportunities to grow, to lead and to build, to strive, to thrive and to rise.
This day is the beginning of a year, a decade, an era that should, and will belong to girls.
We honour our commitment to girls in the partnerships we build (big news this month!) and the choices we make, the places we reach, in the projects we create, the vision we shape, and in every space we make for their voices to be heard.
When girls lead the way, we know exactly where we need to go.
