What does Earth Day mean to you? 🌱 For Synergos, it means uniting for collective impact. It is a reminder that caring for our planet goes beyond ideology, class, and geography.

Synergos’ Shifting Food Systems collaborative community is one of our initiatives to bridge divides in the name of a shared purpose – something bigger than us, beyond our individual convictions, that we can’t achieve by ourselves.

Reimagining the ways we cultivate, produce, process, and distribute our food is a powerful lever for climate resilience. Our global community is catalyzing this change, harnessing individual insight and aligning it toward collective goals.

In Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, a region deeply impacted by climate shocks and systemic inequality, this vision is taking shape. Advancing three areas of collaboration: youth engagement in agri-systems, catalytic capital and enterprising models, and elevating local solutions grounded in traditional and Indigenous wisdom, the Shifting Food Systems community is building a future that none of us could achieve alone.

In the latest episode of the Cultivate the Soul podcast, Suzanne Bowles, Founder of Cattail Strategy and KinMaker, Indigenous Commons shares about practicing generosity as a pathway back to belonging. By healing what limits our capacity to receive, philanthropists can experience true relational wealth. Through Cattail’s KinMaker gatherings, guided by Indigenous wisdom-keepers, philanthropists are invited to reconnect with land and the more than human beings that provide our nourishment. These gatherings foster relational ways of being that transform how we approach decision-making, power-sharing, giving, and financial architectures from a place of trust and reciprocal learning.

In our newest Cultivate the Soul Podcast episode, we speak with Hilary Giovale, author of Becoming a Good Relative: Calling White Settlers toward Truth, Healing & Repair, about her powerful four-year journey of confronting settler ancestry, healing personal and ancestral wounds, and reimagining philanthropy as a practice of humility, reciprocity, and repair.

Hilary shares with deep vulnerability and wisdom:
- How she faced the histories that shaped her privilege
- What healing looks like for wealth holders and philanthropists
- The sacred longing for reconnection with land, lineage, and community
- What interpersonal and reparative philanthropy invites of us?
- How we can each begin the work of becoming a good relative—to Earth, to history, and to one another

This conversation is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and reimagine how we engage in social change—not from guilt or urgency, but from responsibility, relationship, and love.
