Since the Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship began, Adam has awarded scholarships to 34 students, totaling nearly a million dollars. The stories of all of these winners can be found at buildingfoundationsanddreams.com

Each of these individuals also received paid internships at Adam Leitman Bailey P.C. during their junior year. Some of their careers today have included clerking for the New Jersey Supreme Court, becoming a doctor through AmeriCorps, attending law school, becoming teachers—the list goes on.

The charity is self-funded with love and a passion for helping those like himself.

Congratulations to Asli Celik, a senior at New Milford High School who received the 27th Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship. The scholarship is named after Adam Leitman Bailey’s Track and Cross Country Coach in High School, who he credits much of his success, in regards to not only running but to what he has accomplished in his career. Two of our high school interns went on an exciting adventure to the Attorney General’s Office to watch Adam Leitman Bailey in action defending a large landlord in an unjust income discrimination case brought against his client. “I loved Adam’s passion for his client’s cause and his ability to battle with such profound words. This past week, Kelly Kim, a senior at New Milford High School received the 26th Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship. The scholarship is named after Adam Leitman Bailey’s Track and Cross Country Coach in High School, who he credits much of his success, in regards to not only running but to what he has accomplished in his career. Kelly was chosen out of all New Milford High School students by the Guidance Department to be a paid intern at Adam Leitman Bailey. She has decided to attend The College of New Jersey.

The Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship is funded through the Building Foundations charity, founded by Adam Leitman Bailey in 2002. The charity’s mission is to assist students of all ages in pursuing their professional and personal dreams by providing financing, scholarships, education, internships, real-life experience, and any other tools necessary to reach these dreams.

Adam Leitman Bailey has donated over 1.5 million dollars in scholarships since 2008.

As a student at Rutgers, money was not plentiful. I literally ate the same sandwich from the MV deli in New Brunswick every day for lunch as it had the terrific price of $3.25. It took me over a decade before I would consume a turkey sandwich again. Rabbi Goodman needed people to join his Chabad dinners and my friends and I were big fans of free food. Our relationship took off and I was able to assist in filling his dining hall on Friday nights. Three decades later we are now, in a small part, financially supporting these dinners and his family has grown into a small army. What a wonderful feeling seeing a picture of a few of his grandchildren reading Home and hearing that he has purchased a number of books for his other family grandchildren. Rabbi Goodman has worked hard making this world a wonderful place. I am amazed and relish that we are connected 30 years later.

Building Foundations & Dreams works hard to provide support to victims of natural disasters in our community. Many communities are still poorly prepared to cope with the situation when disaster strikes, and there is often a lack of much needed resources. Building Foundations & Dreams is there to provide as much assistance as possible both through distributing supplies directly on-site as well as providing expert legal and insurance advice to residents facing real estate issues and other difficulties as a consequence of the devastation caused.

One of the pillars of Building Foundations & Dreams is investing in educating the future generation. One of many ways we help talented students in need is via scholarships.
Adam Leitman Bailey awarded the first Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship in 2008 in honor of his high-school cross-country and track coach, Raymond “Hap” Harrison. The scholarship is awarded annually to high school graduates attending college. To receive this accolade, a recipient must possess many of the ideals and traits Raymond Harrison instilled in Mr. Bailey, including deep-seated values of success and the desire to make the world a better place through helping others. Additionally, the recipient must also demonstrate financial need and strong academic achievement. The Raymond “Hap” Harrison Scholarship is funded through the Building Foundations charity, founded by Adam Leitman Bailey in 2002. The charity’s mission is to assist students of all ages in pursuing their professional and personal dreams by providing financing, scholarships, education, internships, real-life experience and any other tools necessary to reach these dreams. Today, a number of scholarships are given out each year to his alma mater as well as to students at underserved New York City high schools. To date, all 25 scholarships awarded totaling millions of dollars have been self-funded by Adam Leitman Bailey.
