Street Soccer USA has grown from a single team in Charlotte, North Carolina to a national network of 25,000 kids, teens, and adults in 14 different cities. We deliver our curriculum-based programming and community engagement methodology to create thriving communities around the power of sport in some of the most challenged neighborhoods in the nation. Working with 10,000 participants each year, SS

USA has seen:

- 66% drop in chronic absenteeism among participants

- 92% acquisition rate of social-emotional learning skills

- 20% improvement in Math and Language Arts proficiency

As we head into the new school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate all of our coaches across the country and the impact they make in their communities every day.

Our parks create the space, but it’s our coaches who bring them to life, building relationships, creating belonging, and helping young people grow on and off the field.

At M.S. 137 in Queens, that work now has a new home. Thank you to the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund for working alongside us to create a space where coaches can continue making moments like these possible for the next generation.

As the summer comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back at the FIFA Arena in Central Park.

What started as a field in Central Park became a place for thousands of people to play, connect, and experience the world’s game.

Over the course of the FIFA Arena activation, Street Soccer USA engaged more than 10,000 participants, through programming designed to make soccer accessible in the heart of New York City.

From open play and youth clinics to community tournaments and partner-led sessions, the FIFA Arena welcomed participants from every NYC borough, alongside walk-up players and fans from around the world.

We were proud to partner with 109 community-based organizations, schools, summer camps, and soccer organizations to help bring this space to life, ensuring the energy of the World Cup reached far beyond the stadium.

Thank you to FIFA, Global Citizen, the FIFA World Cup 2026, NYNJ Host Committee, the City of New York, NYC Parks, Central Park Conservancy, and every partner, coach, player, family, and community organization that made this activation possible.

This is what legacy looks like when access is built into the game.

The final goal of this historic Men’s World Cup has been scored, but across the country, Street Soccer USA is still creating spaces where new goals can begin.

We’ve traveled from city to city with one goal in mind: expanding free access to the game and creating opportunities that last long after the final whistle.

A new place for Altadena to play, learn, and grow together. ⚽️🌱

Street Soccer USA and UNIQLOUSA are proud to officially open the UNIQLO Street Soccer Park & Learning Center at St. Elizabeth Parish School.

Created in response to the lasting impact of the Eaton Fire, this permanent community hub was designed to support local youth and families as Altadena continues to recover and rebuild.

The space features two new turf fields and a dedicated learning center offering free year-round soccer programming, mentorship, homework support, and educational workshops.

The park is expected to serve approximately 1,000 young people in its first year, creating more opportunities to make friends, build confidence, create new memories, and experience the joy of the game.

More than a new place to play, this is a long-term investment in Altadena’s young people and the strength of the community surrounding them.

Thank you to UNIQLO, Fast Retailing, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Parish School, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, ARRC, County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, And Altadena Town Council and everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

We’re proud to celebrate our National Board Chair, Jim Finkelstein, on receiving the much deserved 2026 Crandall Challenge Citation from the Wharton Graduate Emeritus Society.

The honor recognizes Wharton alumni who continue using their leadership, experience, and education to create meaningful impact in their communities. This is something that Jim embodies day in and day out, especially when it comes to Street Soccer USA.

Jim has been with SSUSA since 2015 and became the Board Chair in 2022. He’s helped guide our national growth and strengthen our mission to fight poverty and build stronger communities through the power of soccer.

“I have long believed that purpose does not retire,” Jim shared. “Meaningful change happens when people come together around a shared purpose and a commitment to expanding opportunity for others.”

Congratulations, Jim, and thank you for the leadership, care, and conviction you bring to Street Soccer USA every day.

⚽️ Where goals begin in Queens.

Earlier this month, alongside the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, we officially opened the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund Street Soccer Park in Ozone Park.
This park is more than a field. It’s a space where nearly 2,000 students can play, learn, and connect through the game they love.

As the recent State of Soccer report found, too many young people in New York City still face barriers to the game due to cost and a lack of safe, accessible places to play. In neighborhoods across Queens, demand for soccer far exceeds the availability of quality spaces. This park is part of the solution, creating a place where every child has the opportunity to belong, build confidence, and thrive through sport.

Thank you to the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, M.S. 137, Gotham FC, UNIQLO, and New York City Public Schools for helping make this vision possible.

Because when we invest in places to play, we invest in young people, communities, and futures.

Philly, this one is for you. ⚽️

We’re proud to officially open the Bank of America Fields at Visa Street Soccer Park at Tip Top Playground, bringing two new professional-grade soccer fields, lighting for extended play, and new community programming space to Northern Liberties as Philadelphia prepares to welcome the Beautiful Game.

But this moment is about more than the tournament. It’s about what lasts after it.
This park is part of a bigger promise: making sure the legacy of the World Cup is felt in the neighborhoods where the game begins. A space where youth, families, players, and neighbors can play, gather, learn, and grow together through free play, clinics, leagues, learning opportunities, workforce development resources, and community events.

Thank you to Visa and Bank of America for helping bring this vision to life, to Philadelphia Parks & Recreation for supporting this important community space, and to our national and local partners, including UNIQLO, the Adam R. Today, the USMNT plays its first game in the Men’s World Cup, and here in New York City, the game is already being felt far beyond the stadium. ⚽️

Street Soccer USA is proud to help bring the Central Park FIFA Arena to life as a free, public pitch open to every neighborhood, every age, and every level. 🌳

As the country rallies behind the beautiful game, this space is a reminder of what the World Cup can leave behind: more access, more connection, and more opportunities for people to play.

Throughout the tournament, we’ll be programming the space with open play, youth clinics, community tournaments, leagues, and special events that turn this field into more than a place to play. It’s a platform for belonging in the heart of the city.

Boston, this is where goals begin. ⚽️

We celebrated the opening of the Bank of America Fields at Visa Street Soccer Park in Boston, a new neighborhood hub with two mini-pitches, a learning center, and free programming for local youth and families.

As Boston prepares to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, this space helps make sure the game’s impact is felt right here at home: at West Broadway, near the Condon School, and in the community where kids can walk over, play, learn, and belong.

Built alongside an amazing partnership, thank you to the Boston Housing Authority, Soccer Unity Project, Visa, Bank of America, and local partners, this park is designed for the people who call this neighborhood home.

Because Boston’s World Cup legacy should be more than what happens on match day. It should be places like this, where young people have room to grow, families have a place to gather, and community pride has a field of its own.
