The past four years of budget cuts have strained and the workers who care for them.

Now NYers need to fix the basics: invest in safe, clean parks, expand rec center hours and lay the foundation for affordability.

JULY 17! Where were you during the last big flood event? What sounds do you remember most from that moment? On Thursday, July 17th from 7 - 9 pm join us for an immersive sonic installation, where rain is more than weather—it is memory, warning, and connective tissue. Echoes Beneath the Rain weaves together original music, ambient recordings, and community testimony to trace the swelling presence of water in our lives: the way it arrives, accumulates, reacts—and the ways we respond.
Through a three-part live performance—Before, During, and After the Storm—you are invited to move through the gallery space at your own pace. Each movement carries its own pulse. Performed in a continuous loop, this sonic experience echoes the cycles of storm and flooding impacts and community response, reflecting both the emotional weight of the water and the creative momentum building toward repair.

In the face of divestment and compounding storms, Echoes Beneath the Rain uplifts the work of Rainproof NYC and community-led efforts to prepare, protect, and reimagine our shared urban future. This is more than a listening experience—it is an invitation to join the work.

Spaces limited, RSVP: RSVP: bit.ly/rsvprain

As a Rainproof NYC working group member, I am thrilled to release “Rainproofing New York City: Recommendations from the Working Groups.” This report is a vital step in our ongoing journey, providing actionable strategies for our city to adapt to heavy rainfall.

To take the next step is launching the “Rainproof [Your Community’s Name]” grant, offering $10,000 to support three organizations implementing these very recommendations. Apply by Dec 4!
