The sixth annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth, presented The Broadway League Black to Broadway initiative in partnership with Black Theatre United and BTC: Building The Change, brought an all-Black Broadway cast to Times Square for a free outdoor concert celebrating Black artistry, culture, and community.

Harold Wheeler's legacy lives on in every score that tells a story, every orchestra that breathes life into a production, and every artist who dares to imagine themselves in spaces they may have never seen before.

His words remind us that music has the power to move us in ways we don't always realize.

Through his extraordinary artistry, leadership, and vision, Harold expanded what was possible, leaving an extraordinary mark on the American theater and opening doors for generations of Black musicians, orchestrators, conductors, and composers to follow.

We remember not only his remarkable achievements, but the path he helped create. May we continue to honor his legacy by ensuring that every young artist can see themselves in every corner of this industry.

Black Theatre United is seeking Teaching Artists for our Broadway Bound program, an immersive musical theater experience designed for 6th and 7th grade students. Working alongside Broadway professionals, students explore performance, design, technical theater, and more before creating and presenting their own original showcase.
