Stand Up Girls NYC Inspiring & uplifting teenage girls in underserved communities through Stand Up Comedy! ! Stand Up!

Girls is a nonprofit organization whose core mission is to educate, inspire and equip girls from underserved communities with the communication skills necessary to succeed in and lead male-dominated workplaces. Through developing and performing stand-up comedy, our girls learn to own the room – be it a courtroom, operating room or boardroom.

Over 4️⃣ weeks, participants will learn how to turn their ideas, observations, stories, & wonderfully weird thoughts into comedy, all while building confidence & finding their voice.

No comedy experience needed…. Just bring yourself. 💛

It teaches young people to trust their voice, communicate with confidence, recover when things don’t go as planned, & take up space without apologizing!!

You’ve been invited on a girls’ trip... but every Airbnb is full of comedians!!

Some of these trips end with lifelong friendships.
Some with matching tattoos.
Some end with a 14-minute argument about whether hot dogs are sandwiches.
One definitely ends with someone getting politely asked to leave the resort!!

The microphone isn’t the goal ... The confidence is.

Stand Up Girls we use comedy as a way to help young people practice something much bigger than telling jokes:

✨ Speaking before they feel ready.
✨ Taking creative risks.
✨ Trusting their own perspective.
✨ Recovering when something doesn’t go as planned.
✨ Finding a voice that’s entirely their own.

Because one day that microphone might become a classroom presentation, a college interview, a board meeting, a difficult conversation, or even a TED Talk!!

Confidence isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something you practice.

Registration is open for Stand Up! Girls Summer Comedy Program! ✨

This FREE program is designed for girls and gender-expansive youth ages 10-14 to build confidence, find their voice & have fun through the power of comedy.
Through games, storytelling & stand-up, students will:
🎭 Create their own original comedy
🎤 Practice performing and public speaking
✨ Build confidence in a supportive community
💛 Make new friends

The program ends with a LIVE comedy showcase where students get to take the stage & share their work with family, friends, and community!!

Registration is now open for our FREE Stand Up! Girls Summer Comedy Program! Woot woot!!!

Over eight afternoons, girls & gender-expansive youth (ages 10-14) will build confidence, strengthen public speaking skills, write original comedy, make new friends, & discover the power of their own voice.

The program wraps up with a live comedy showcase where students perform for family, friends, & the community.

Watching young people step onto a stage & realize, “I can do this,” never gets old.
