El equipo del Festival de Naturaleza quiere expresar su pesar por la partida de uno de los grandes y uno de los pioneros de la producción de documentales de naturaleza en Chile. Manuel Gedda Ortiz ademas de ser un destacado comunicador audiovisual en Chile en el área documental, su trabajo influyó a muchas generaciones entre la década del 80 y los inicios de los 2000, dando vida al recordado programa “Al Sur del Mundo“, que emitía Canal 13, y "Bajo la Cruz del Sur", que emitía Megavisión.

Programas que marcaron a los televidentes de Chile y que fueron la invitación para conocer y descubrir las bellezas naturales y el patrimonio cultural de Chile y América trabajando en ellos exhaustivamente por más de 18 años. Manuel fue parte del jurado en la última versión de nuestro Festival.
Manuel siempre estarás en nuestros corazones.

The Nature Awards team wants to express their regret for the departure of one of the greats and one of the pioneers in the production of nature documentaries in Chile. Manuel Gedda Ortiz in addition to being an outstanding audiovisual communicator in Chile in the documentary area, his work influenced many generations between the 80s and the early 2000s, giving life to the remembered program "Al Sur del Mundo", which was broadcast by Canal 13, and "Bajo la Cruz del Sur", broadcast by Megavisión.

Programs that marked the viewers of Chile and that were the invitation to know and discover the natural beauties and the cultural heritage of Chile and America working on them exhaustively for more than 18 years. Manuel was part of the jury in the latest version of our Festival.

“Ranita de Darwin” especie endémica de los bosques templados de Chile y Argentina (nombre científico: Rhinoderma darwinii; nombre en honor a su descubridor, Charles Darwin). Elegí este animal por ser uno de los anfibios más singulares del mundo, sin embargo recientemente (en el año 2018) fue declarada especie en peligro por la Unión Internacional de Conservación de la Naturaleza (UICN).

"Darwin's frog" endemic species of the temperate forests of Chile and Argentina (scientific name: Rhinoderma darwinii; name in honor of its discoverer, Charles Darwin). I chose this animal for being one of the most unique amphibians in the world, however recently (in 2018) it was declared an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Desde el aire vemos a dos Ballenas Francas migrando hacia Península Valdés. Sitio en donde las Ballenas Francas se reúnen cada invierno para reproducirse y dar a luz a sus crías.
Los individuos llegan desde distintos puntos del hemisferio sur del planeta: desde las aguas cálidas de la costa de Brasil hasta las heladas aguas de la Antártida.

Meet one of the juries of the Latin American Nature Awards!

He is a recognized professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), specialized in interpretation and enhancement of Chile's natural heritage.
In addition to being an outstanding audiovisual communicator in Chile in the documentary area, his work influenced many generations between the 1980s and the early 2000s, bringing to life the well-remembered program "South of the World", broadcast by Channel 13, and “Under the Southern Cross, which was broadcast by Megavisión.
Programs that marked the viewers of Chile and that were the invitation to know and discover the natural beauties and cultural heritage of Chile and America working on them exhaustively for more than 18 years.
