A New Restaurant, 1,700 Meals, and a Community Working Together đź’š
During two weeks of training at its new New Hartford restaurant, CAVA donated more than 1,700 prepared meals. ResQ2Feed Oneida County rescued and delivered those meals to nine local organizations and community sites serving seniors, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and families facing food insecurity.
Several Oneida County Food Coalition members helped put those meals into the hands of our neighbors: Hope House, Seeds of Hope Pantry, Johnson Park, The Salvation Army in Utica, Rome Housing Authority, Feed Our Vets, and Morrow Warming Center. Meals also reached residents of Perretta Twin Towers and people served by Good Neighbors, Inc.
This is what a connected community can do. CAVA shared the food, ResQ2Feed volunteers made the pickups and deliveries, and local partners knew how to reach the people who could use a meal.
Thank you to CAVA’s New Hartford team and the manager, Sandy Rosario, every volunteer, and every participating organization. Welcome to Oneida County, CAVA! We’re grateful that your community spirit is already making a difference here.
