From 2022 to 2025, LISC New York continued to invest in the projects, organizations, and places that help communities thrive. Through our lending work, we supported developments that expanded affordable housing, strengthened local economies, and created spaces where residents and businesses can grow.

As the lending landscape evolved, LISC NY adapted its approach to continue advancing community development projects across New York State. Even as tighter underwriting standards and project delays created new challenges, LISC NY remained focused on helping projects move forward and identifying new ways to support community development partners.

Exciting news! New York is one of the eligible markets for this new funding opportunity from LISC and Uber’s Health Access Fund. For many people, transportation remains one of the biggest barriers to accessing care. Nonprofit health providers in New York can apply for grants to connect patients to free rides to healthcare appointments. Learn more and apply by June 22!

Since 2021, we’ve teamed up with Uber through the Health Access Fund, with Uber contributing more than $9 million to help bridge critical transportation gaps for patients living on low incomes.

Today, we’re excited to share that the journey continues with a new round of grants!

From 2022 to 2025, LISC New York advanced community development efforts across the state through a combination of strategic investments, lending, technical assistance, and place based initiatives. Working alongside local partners, we supported projects and programs that strengthened neighborhoods, expanded economic opportunity, and advanced housing, transportation, and small business growth.

A key part of this work was LISC NY's evolving approach to grantmaking. Over this period, we broadened our reach across New York while providing more substantial, long term support to community partners. These investments helped local organizations strengthen their programs, expand services, and connect residents and small businesses with resources, training, and technical assistance that support lasting community impact.

Last week, LISC NY attended the Attainable & Workforce Housing Forum hosted by IMN .

Valerie White, Head of National Housing Strategic Initiatives and Senior Executive Director of LISC NY, spoke on a panel alongside Tyler Herbert, Maria Sourbeer, and Matthew Wolpert, moderated by Huss Sharifi. The panel explored the fundamentals of identifying the right partners, structuring mutually beneficial agreements, and aligning values and incentives to accelerate impact, reduce risk, and build replicable models that allow teams to scale faster and smarter. Members of LISC Housing, LISC Fund Management, and National Equity Fund were also in attendance.

LISC NY is proud to celebrate our 4th anniversary!

Four years ago, LISC NYC and LISC Western New York came together to form LISC NY, expanding our ability to support communities across the state.

Since 1980, LISC NYC and LISC WNY combined have invested over $4.7 billion in in under-resourced communities, resulting in more than 52,541 affordable homes and apartments preserved and developed statewide, $11 billion leveraged, and 3.8 million square feet of commercial and community space created.

Over the past four years, LISC NY has focused on expanding access to affordable housing, supporting small businesses, and creating greater opportunity across New York’s neighborhoods. That progress has been made possible by the partners and communities we work alongside every day.

Join LISC NY Tuesday May 12th at 2 PM ET for an informational webinar on the Capital Partnership for Affordable Renovation (CPAR) Loan Program. This session will explore how the CPAR Loan Program supports building owners in preserving safe, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income New Yorkers.

Representatives from LISC NY, The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) , and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) will provide an overview of the program, including its key terms, eligibility criteria, and the process for collaborating with approved lending partners. We are saddened to hear about the passing of Keith Gordon, a member of LISC NY's first Developers Training Program cohort and most recently a participant in Alumni Cohort 8. Keith was a longstanding supporter of LISC NY’s work and mission.

Keith served as a LISC Developers Training Program coach for several cohort participants and worked closely with faith-based organizations to help bring their development concepts to fruition. He remained deeply engaged with the LISC NY community over the years — attending events, supporting fellow developers, and continuing to build meaningful partnerships across the affordable housing ecosystem.

Keith will be remembered not only for his contributions to real estate development, but for his unwavering commitment to supporting developers and organizations like LISC NY in the effort to create and preserve affordable housing for New York residents.

He will be greatly missed by the LISC NY community and all who had the privilege of working alongside him. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones during this difficult time.

LISC NY is proud to share the 2026 Impact Report for the Creative Economy Fund, an initiative focused on expanding access to capital for affordable creative and production spaces across New York City. By supporting projects in arts, culture, and design, the Fund helps stimulate local economic activity and support neighborhood-based development.

Since its launch, the Fund has attracted strong investor interest and supported projects that are creating jobs, activating underutilized space, and contributing to long-term economic growth across the city.
