We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lovaeta K. Amoako as our new Board Secretary.

Ms. Amoako is a New York native with profound cultural connections to both the U.S. and Ghana, West Africa. Her extensive experience within the diaspora fuels her dedication to culture, community, and fostering connections.

She is a distinguished cultural producer, community developer, and the founder of Culture Unloc’d LLC, the innovative entity behind LOCnificent Fest—New York City’s leading cultural event celebrating locs, natural hair, and the global Black diaspora. Since its inception in 2018, LOCnificent has successfully cultivated dynamic, inclusive environments that unite individuals from diverse backgrounds to honor identity, artistry, and culture, while simultaneously championing Black and brown-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.

With over 18 years of public service, Ms. Amoako currently holds a director position in the Real Estate Development Department at the New York City Housing Authority, where her efforts are concentrated on advancing affordable housing initiatives.

Ms. Amoako's commitment to community extends beyond her professional and creative endeavors. Given her strong ties to Ghana, she is deeply invested in initiatives that support and empower youth across the African continent. We are proud to have her serve on the board of Africa Everything, where she contributes as Board Secretary and actively promotes its mission of creating opportunities and improving outcomes for young people in West Africa.
