“The go-getter woman, or girlboss, as that type is now known, has worn out her welcome,” Lauren Michele Jackson writes. The girlboss’s first shot of good press, Jackson continues, came from a woman named Mary Kathlyn Wagner Rogers, known more famously as Mary Kay. In 1963, Mary Kay founded her eponymous cosmetics empire.
