Our Director, Sofia, represented the Children of Ukraine Foundation at the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, speaking at an inter-generational discussion on investing in peace. 🇺🇳🕊️

Drawing from our work on the ground, Sofia illustrated the devastating human cost of conflict on Ukraine’s youngest generation. She emphasized that true security must be proactive, not reactive—requiring world leaders to tighten strategic economic sanctions to starve the revenue streams that fund war, while channeling resources into the systems, communities, and economies that sustain long-term peace.

September was a big month for our international advocacy! 🇺🇳

During the UN General Assembly High-Level Week, our team had the privilege of sitting in on crucial high-level meetings with world leaders to champion the rights and future of Ukraine’s children.

Two moments left a mark on us:

🔹 At a Crimea Platform meeting presided over by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, we were deeply moved by a young girl’s testimony: “To many, Crimea is just a line on a map, but to me, Crimea is my home, where I grew up, and where my family is.” A stark reminder of the deeply human reality behind every border.

🔹 We also attended a session with First Lady Olena Zelenska, whose tireless work for Ukraine’s children continues to inspire us. She spoke powerfully on resilience in the face of the unimaginable—a mission that sits at the very heart of everything we do.

Taking Ukraine’s stories to the highest global stages is only the beginning. We won’t stop advocating until every child can return home to peace. 💙💛

Every child deserves safety and stability.

After enduring an abusive situation, Anastasiia made the courageous choice to pack up and start over in a village in the Vinnytsia region.

Today, she is raising her six children with strength and dedication: three are in school, two attend kindergarten, and her youngest—just 14 months old—stays by her side at home as she recovers from a recent surgery.
