🚨 URGENT — BRIXIES RESCUE NEEDS YOUR HELP 🚨

We are barely scraping by right now. 💔 It has become extremely difficult for our rescue to even provide food for the animals currently in our care, let alone cover their medical needs.

We have already closed our doors to new intakes because of our financial situation, limited fosters, and everything our team is currently facing. We don’t want to shut down completely, but we desperately need help to keep going.

We currently need help getting several animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated, along with covering food and other necessary medical care.

💔 Star is one example. When Star was returned to us, she was underweight, not spayed, and had no updated vaccines. Unfortunately, the adopter did not honor our adoption contract, and now it is up to Brixies Rescue to get everything taken care of.

Unfortunately, no matter how much we vet people or how thorough our adoption process is, things like this can still happen. But when an animal comes back to us needing help, we don’t turn our backs on them. ❤️

Misty needs a foster or adopter by NOVEMBER. 💔 Her current foster will be undergoing a medical procedure and unfortunately will no longer be able to continue fostering her.

We are urgently trying to find Misty a safe, loving home so she does not end up without a place to go.

• Up to date on vaccines ✅
• Sweet and deserving of a loving family ❤️
• Ready for her forever home!

🐾 IMPORTANT Brixies Rescue Update 🐾

With heavy hearts, Brixies Rescue Inc. has made the difficult decision to pause all new animal intakes until further notice.

This decision is not one we made lightly. Due to financial difficulties, limited foster availability, and one of our directors currently facing medical difficulties, we have reached a point where we need to prioritize the animals who are already depending on us.

❤️ Our current animals are NOT being abandoned.

Every animal currently in Brixies’ care will continue to:
🐾 Be fostered and cared for
🐾 Receive necessary medical care and rehabilitation
🐾 Remain available for adoption when they are ready
🐾 Receive the love, attention, and support they deserve

We simply cannot responsibly continue taking in more animals when our current resources are stretched so thin. Taking a step back now allows us to focus on giving the animals already in our care the quality of care they deserve.

We know this may be disappointing to those who reach out needing help, and we truly wish we could say yes to every animal. Unfortunately, rescue has limits, and knowing when to pause is part of responsible rescue.

We honestly don’t understand how this sweet boy is still waiting. 😔

Meowise has been waiting MONTHS for someone to choose him, and yet we continue to receive little to no interest. Not even serious inquiries. 💔

Meowise is:
🐾 An adult cat
🐾 FIV/FeLV negative
🐾 Good with other cats
🐾 Good with dogs
🐾 Deserving of a loving forever home
🐾 Ready to finally be someone’s family

He has spent far too long waiting for the day someone sees him and says, “That’s my cat.”

We know adult cats are often overlooked for kittens, but Meowise has so much love to give. He doesn’t need to be passed over again. He needs someone willing to give him a chance. ❤️

🚨 MISTY STILL HASN’T BEEN ADOPTED — WE NEED YOUR HELP 🚨

This is honestly heartbreaking. 💔 Misty has been waiting and waiting for someone to finally see her for the wonderful dog she is, but she continues to be overlooked.

Now, we have an urgent situation. Misty’s amazing foster has a medical procedure scheduled in November and, unfortunately, will no longer be able to continue fostering after that. That means Misty needs to find her forever home before then.

We do NOT want Misty to be forced into another stressful transition simply because the right family hasn’t found her yet. She deserves stability, love, and a family who will choose her and never look back. ❤️

Seriously… why is this girl being overlooked? 😭

Misty is still searching for the family who will finally see what we see in her. She is such a wonderful dog and deserves so much more than being passed by time and time again.

She’s the kind of dog who just needs someone to give her a chance — someone willing to look beyond her being another face in a rescue post and realize that she could be their perfect dog. ❤️

We don’t understand how she’s still waiting. She deserves a couch, a family, a warm bed, and someone who promises her that she’s finally home. 🏡🐶

This sweet adult boy is truly one of the sweetest cats you could ever meet. He has been patiently waiting while other cats get adopted, and we just can’t understand why his family hasn’t found him yet. 😭

🚨 ROSA IS ON HER WAY! 🐾❤️ + AN UNEXPECTED RESCUE RETURN 🚨

Rosa was officially picked up YESTERDAY and is now on the road to Pennsylvania! 🥹❤️ She is doing SO well during the trip, and we couldn’t be happier knowing she’s getting closer to her next chapter. 🐶✨

Unfortunately, this trip also came with some heartbreaking news. We had to pick up another pup who was previously adopted from Brixies Rescue — Vespa, now named Star. 💔

Three years later, Star has found herself without the home and family she knew after being returned to us due to circumstances involving concerns for her care and well-being.

She is safe with us now, but she needs our help. 🥺❤️

Star needs to get up to date on her vaccines and receive a full veterinary evaluation as soon as she arrives. Unfortunately, all we can do right now is get her seen by a vet and hope for the best.

After three years, she deserves another chance at a loving home and a family who will never give up on her. ❤️

We would love to get Star vaccinated as soon as she arrives to us, and we desperately need help covering her veterinary care.

🚨💔 MISTY NEEDS A HOME — AGAIN. PLEASE DON’T LET HER GROW UP IN FOSTER CARE. 💔🚨

We are making this post AGAIN because somehow… Misty STILL has ZERO applications. Not one. 😭

And honestly, we don’t understand it.

Misty is the kind of dog people say they want. ❤️

🐾 Sweet
🐾 Loving
🐾 Affectionate
🐾 Playful
🐾 Smart
🐾 Loyal
🐾 Loves being around people
🐾 So much love to give
🐾 Ready to be someone’s best friend

And we just got another reminder of how amazing this girl is. 🥹❤️

Her foster mom recently took Misty to the park, and she did SO WELL! 🌳🐶 She handled the outing beautifully, enjoyed being outside, and showed us that she would make an incredible companion for someone who loves getting out and experiencing life with their dog.

Whether you’re looking for a dog to walk through the city, explore parks, go on adventures, or simply be your best friend on the couch — Misty wants to be there. 🥺❤️

She has so much potential to be an amazing city dog AND outdoor companion.

But instead of waking up in her forever home, Misty keeps waking up in foster care.

Every day she waits.

Every day she watches other dogs get applications.

Every day she hopes that maybe today is her day.

And it breaks our hearts. 💔

No puppy should grow up wondering why nobody chose them.

Misty doesn’t need a perfect family. She needs a family who will love her, include her, take her places, give her adventures, and—most importantly—never give up on her.
