Today marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, signed into law on July 26, 1990. This Disability Pride Month, we're celebrating the strength, creativity, and joy that students and educators with disabilities bring to our classrooms and our dance floors.

At Dancing Classrooms, we believe every student deserves the chance to move, connect, and shine. Inclusion isn't an afterthought in our programming, it's part of who we are.

Grace and respect look different for every dancer and that's exactly the point.

Summer break for students, but not for us!

Two weeks ago we welcomed a new group of Teaching Artists into the Dancing Classrooms community through our annual DCI training, learning not just the steps of the Dulaine Method, but the philosophy behind it.

One new DCI member, Morgan, put it perfectly: "Dance is a lesson in social justice and equity... ballroom dancing can be a great equalizer."

This year's students are in for something special.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Dancing Classrooms! 🎉🇺🇸

Today's celebration feels especially fitting for us. Social dance in America has always been about people from different backgrounds coming together on the same floor, sharing each other's steps, learning to move together, and finding common rhythms. Our founders were not that different - coming together to give life to a common dream: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.

To our students, families, teaching artists, school and organizational partners across the country: thank you for being part of a community that celebrates connection, respect, and joy through dance. Here's to a holiday full of good company and maybe even a little dancing of your own.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day! ✨

Every body deserves to dance, and every dancer deserves to feel free. This Pride, we're celebrating the joy of movement, connection, and self-expression at the heart of everything we do at Dancing Classrooms. Ballroom dance has a rich history of breaking barriers and building community, and that spirit lives on in every classroom we step into. Our students learn that dance is for everyone, no exceptions. The confidence, respect, and connection they build on the dance floor are lessons that carry far beyond it.Happy Pride from all of us at Dancing Classrooms!
