From the Dancing Classrooms family to the Mad Hot Ball stage!

We’re thrilled to honor James Repetti with the 2026 Alumni Achievement Award at this year’s Mad Hot Ball. 💃🏽🕺🏽

A former Dancing Classrooms student, James has carried his love of ballroom far beyond the classroom, becoming a 9-time IFSSDA World Champion and competitive ballroom coach.

We can’t wait to celebrate this incredible full-circle moment with James and our community on October 16 at Léman Ballroom. ✨

🎟️ Join us for the celebration!

Wednesday we welcomed our new Teaching Artists with training to kick off the year, and yesterday our whole team came together for our Annual Back to School Retreat!

We talked organizational updates, dove into professional development to prep for fall residencies, and of course... we danced. Because at Dancing Classrooms, that's how we do everything: together.

Here's to another year of bringing connection, confidence, and joy to classrooms across NYC, NJ, and Westchester. Let's go, Fall 2026! 🎉

Twenty-five years ago, our city changed forever. On this anniversary of 9/11, we're holding close everyone who was lost, everyone who responded, and everyone still carrying that day with them.

At Dancing Classrooms, we've always believed that connection is what helps communities heal. It's why we put kids from different schools and different backgrounds hand in hand on a dance floor, and why we've kept doing it for over 25 years. Community isn't just something we talk about. It's at the center of everything we do.

Today we remember. And we recommit to building the kind of connections that carry our communities, and a city, through anything.
