Hi Everyone,

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this difficult time. We are a group of teens and young adults, bound by our shared belief that Judaism has an important mission in the world and it is one that requires young leaders who will own and actualize that mission. Typically, we work together to isolate specific missions we can undertake in order to improve our communities, along with ourselves. Given the unusual, and quite alarming, state we have all found ourselves in right now, for better worse, there is no shortage of opportunities to help others, stay committed to our ideals, and most crucially, not lose sight of what is important. We have created a program called “Adopt A Neighbor” whose objective is to care for the people who have most difficulty caring for themselves, namely children and the elderly. “Adopt A Neighbor” is comprised of two, distinct, components, each one targeting one of these populations.

The program for kids would entail video calling them and helping to tutor them or just spend some time with them in an older-sibling-like capacity. The program for the elderly involves calling them in order to make sure they are not alone and are staying active, both physically and mentally, and/or playing some sort of game with them, whether it is teaching them to download Words With Friends or anything else they might enjoy.

Now, where you come in! We need people to fill in these important roles and we also need to hear about people who might benefit from receiving one of these calls. If you are interested in being a volunteer, please fill out this first form. If you know of anybody who would like to be reached out to, please fill out the second one.
