The Seven Gates of Grief ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Some parts of grief are easy to name. Others hide quietly โ€” in a timeline that shifted, a body that feels unfamiliar, a sense of belonging that slipped away without us noticing.

We wanted to share a framework that's given us language for the harder-to-explain pieces of loss. Swipe through gently, at your own pace.

This isn't the only map, and it's not a clinical one โ€” just something that might offer a word for a feeling you've carried without knowing how to describe. If even one gate speaks to you, that's enough. ๐Ÿ’›

Which one feels most like you right now?

(Framework concept by Helen Davenport Peace shared with adaptation.)

Episode 3: Recurrent Loss

Have you ever stared at a pregnancy test and started grieving before you even looked at it?

After more than one loss, hope doesn't feel like excitement anymore. It feels like bracing. Because some part of you has learned not to trust good news until it's proven itself, over and over.

If you know, you know. And if this is you: that fear isn't pessimism, and it isn't a lack of faith โ€” it's your heart trying to protect itself from a pain it's already felt too many times.
We see the bracing. We see the hope you're still holding onto, even when it's wrapped in fear. ๐Ÿ’›

It's long but worth a listen....

The pain of our nation is insurmountable, but that doesn't diminish each mother's individual pain ๐Ÿ’”

If you listened to the end, we'd love to hear your thoughts.

Tisha B'Av reminds us that some losses leave behind more than emptinessโ€”they leave behind longing. A yearning for wholeness. For the life that could have been.

For parents carrying the heartbreak of pregnancy or infant loss, this day can feel especially familiar. It is the ache of living between what is and what should have been.

If this resonates with your heart today, know that you are not alone. We remember with you. We mourn with you. And we hold space for every dream, every hope, and every precious life that will never be forgotten. ๐Ÿ’™

May we merit the day when all brokenness is healed, all tears are comforted, and the world is made whole once again.

One of the greatest fears people have is, "I don't want to bring up the baby because I don't want to remind her." Can I let you in on something? She hasn't forgotten.

Not today. Not on the anniversary. Not five years from now. Not twenty. A mother doesn't need to be reminded of the child she carried. What she does need is to know that someone else remembers too.

Saying her baby's name, remembering with her, won't create pain that wasn't already there. It tells her, "Your baby mattered. Your baby is remembered. And you don't have to carry this alone."

Never be afraid to remember with a mother. Mark the date. Sometimes, that is one of the greatest gifts you can give. ๐Ÿ’›

Episode 2: Miscarriage

Have you ever caught yourself doing the math? How many weeks you'd be. How old your child would be.

No one else knows there's math to do. There was no announcement, no bump, nothing anyone else could track โ€” so the counting happens quietly, in your own head, on your own time.

If you know, you know. And if this is you: the loss doesn't need to be visible to be real. We see the math you're still doing. ๐Ÿ’›

A new series with Mrs. Malkie Klaristenfeld

We're starting something close to our hearts.

So many of the feelings that come with loss are ones we carry quietly โ€” because how do you explain something no one else seems to understand? This series is here to change that.

Each episode, Mrs. Klaristenfeld puts words to a different piece of this journey โ€” the ones we don't always say out loud, but every one of us who's been through it knows exactly what we mean.

Because if you know, you know. And here, you're not carrying it by yourself โ€” there's a whole community that gets it, right beside you. ๐Ÿ’›
