Hey, Fam! We’re still here! Hope you are all good. 🤗 We know we’ve been quieter than normal as, while continuing our weekly NY Common Pantry runs, we’ve taken a l'il pause to reflect on our purpose and place going forward.
We’ve been having some meetings (all are welcome). And some readings (we have a book club, you are also welcome). And we’ve been doing a lot of thinking. We are in the process of drafting a new mission statement.
We’re also having our first big, live, community “Meet Your Neighbors” event on Saturday, April 30th from 12-3PM!! It’s at 137th & Broadway (outside the 137th St. Station) in Hamilton Heights. Please come out for groceries, food, games and to show your solidarity. Tell your friends! 🥳
Also: Thank you to our founding members, our past members, our current members, and our neighbors who we hope will be members soon. And thank you to our Facebook followers for these past two years of emotional, financial, and social media support (likes count too!!). No, but really, you guys are the best. Hope to see you on the 30th! 💙
Finally: If you or anyone you know want to donate to or join UMMA (if you live between Midtown and Inwood), head to the link in our bio.
