The Columbia County Deputy Sheriffs Benevolent Association proudly recognizes the retirement of Senior Investigator Travis VanAlstyne, Badge #115, following 20 years of dedicated service to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
Over the course of his career, Travis served with distinction in a variety of roles, beginning as a Patrol Deputy before becoming a K-9 Deputy alongside his partner, K-9 Kira. He later served as a School Resource Deputy, Investigator, and ultimately Senior Investigator. In every assignment, Travis exemplified professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to serving the residents of Columbia County.
Twenty years in this profession is measured by far more than time. It is measured by the lives protected, the victims helped, the students mentored, the cases solved, the partnerships built, and the respect earned from fellow deputies and the community alike. Travis leaves behind a legacy of dedication, leadership, and selfless service that has made our agency stronger and our community safer.

While your badge may be retired, the impact you’ve made throughout your career will continue to be felt for years to come.
