We help hundreds of individuals and families by offering personalized service as well as practical solutions at no cost. The working relationships we maintain with government ministries in Israel and around the world allow us to harness the right factors in handling these complex cases and in the end sharing the required documents. Rachel spent years building Café Blooma into a gathering place for Kfar Blum. Then the war came, the café closed, income disappeared, and debt replaced stability.

But even while fighting to save her own business, Rachel kept feeding soldiers and supporting the community around her.

In our visit to her beautiful place in Kfar Blum, she shared what it meant to receive help when she was the one who had spent so long helping others.

Supporting Rachel is about more than keeping a café open. It is about protecting a family’s livelihood and helping a community hold on to one of the places that brings people together.

Behind Yaara’s thank you letter is a story of grief, resilience, and a mother doing everything she can to keep her family standing.

Yaara is a single mother from Moshav Shaar Yeshuv, raising two children on her own while carrying the trauma of losing her brother in a terrorist attack, the disruption of evacuation, and growing financial pressure at home. Her children are also coping with emotional and educational challenges after everything their family has endured.

Shelly and Mike, founders of La’Aretz Foundation, recently met Rachel, owner of Café Bluma in Kibbutz Kfar Blum.

For a decade, her café was a beloved gathering place in the north. When the war began, the business was forced to close, income disappeared, and debt quickly mounted. Still, Rachel found a way to keep serving her community, providing thousands of meals and drinks to soldiers stationed nearby.

Through a direct grant, our donors helped Rachel continue fighting for the business she built and the community that depends on it.

During our recent visit, we had the privilege of meeting the Tal-Lavi family, whose lives were transformed on October 7.

After enduring displacement, the anguish of a kidnapped family member, and the lasting trauma carried by their young son, their journey toward healing continues. With the help of Mapel, his service dog, Yahel is slowly rebuilding a sense of safety, confidence, and peace.

Our recent visit to Kibbutz Manara in northern Israel was a painful reminder that the war’s impact is still present in the walls, windows, and homes families were forced to leave behind.

What once held ordinary family life now bears the marks of destruction. Rooms were burned, walls were torn open, and entire homes were left uninhabitable. Yet among the rubble, the Israeli flag, menorahs, and personal belongings remain, quiet symbols of a community determined not to disappear.

For the families of Manara, returning home is not simply about repairing buildings. It means restoring safety, rebuilding livelihoods, helping children recover from trauma, and creating a future in a place they still deeply love.

La’Aretz Foundation remains committed to standing beside families across northern Israel as they face the long and difficult road of rebuilding.

When partnerships are built on shared values, the impact reaches far beyond financial support.

We are deeply honored to receive this letter of appreciation from The College of Management Academic Studies, recognizing our scholarship partnership and the difference it is making in the lives of students whose education has been interrupted by reserve duty and the realities of war.

For many of these students, a scholarship is more than assistance with tuition. It is a reminder that their service is seen, their sacrifices are valued, and that an entire community believes in their future.
