IMPORTANT PSA: DONATIONS NEEDED

There has been a large outpouring of requests from the elderly, veterans, handicapped & disabled, and many who are financially unable to make minor repairs to their homes. Simple requests such as deck & steps repair, replacing a door or window, replacing a toilet or vanity, patching a roof, building a wheel chair access ramp, replacing a lighting fixture, and many more have been received.

The men at Isaac’s House are happy to help with these minor home repairs at no cost. Community service is part of their recovery plan. However, most of the people making the request do not have the means to pay for the materials needed for the repairs. This is where the TNT Lions Club has stepped in to help serve the community. The club has secured a storage unit free of cost. The club is now collecting 2 x 4s, plywood, insulation, paneling, roof shingles, partly used cans of paint, unused paint brushes, doors, windows, vanities, toilets, kitchen cabinets, etc. If you have any new, used, or recycled building materials of any kind, the Lions Club would appreciate your donation so that people in need in our community can have minor home repairs done before winter at no cost.

Lions Club international has nine major causes that we support: Vision, Diabetes, Hunger, Childhood Cancer, Humanitarian, Mental Health, Environment, Disaster Relief, and Youth (LEO Club). Which one of these international causes is nearer and dearer to your heart?

The TNT Lions Club has a committee director for each of these causes. Each committee is working to serve these causes in Claiborne County as best we can. WE COULD USE YOUR HELP.

If you feel particularly drawn to one of these international causes, the TNT Lions Club needs you to help with our many community projects. There is no better feeling than knowing you are helping to serve those in need in our community.

Its this simple: #1. Attend our next TNT Lions Club on the LAST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH, (September 29th ) AT 5:30 PM AT THE CHANGE CLAIBORNE BUILDING AT 1732 MAIN STREET IN TAZEWELL. #2. Complete a membership application (If you want to complete an application in advance, notify us. One will be sent to you.) #3. Pay your club dues. #4. Choose a committee that best reflects your passion. #5. Begin serving your community as a TNT Lion.

The TNT Lions Club was formed on March 13. 2026 and continues to be the newest club in Tennessee. In July 2026, the TNT Lions Club was recognized as the 2nd fastest growing Lions Club in the 12N District of East Tennessee. Not only do we want to be 1st place in membership, we want our club to be the most productive. The more members we have the better we can serve the needs of Claiborne County.

Please consider becoming a TNT Lion and giving just a little of your time helping serve our neighbors. Nobody does it better than Lions Club International. Lions display the spirit of "hope" because WE SERVE.

💗 Resource Spotlight: McNabb Center Mobile Health Clinic

💗Getting care close to home can make it easier to take that first step. The McNabb Center Mobile Health Clinic offers mental health care, substance use treatment, and primary care in New Tazewell.

💗Appointments are available Thursdays at Stand in the Gap Coalition, 325 Straight Creek Road, New Tazewell, TN 37825.

💗The clinic accepts TennCare, and funding may be available for uninsured patients who meet the income requirement listed on the flyer.
