Student council members are working to plan for the haunted hallway. We are in need of some things and we thought we would reach out to our wonderful community for some help!

Some things we need include:
-several pool noodles
-clown costumes
-clown masks
-circus props
-tea party toys
-orange prison uniforms
-arm sleeve tattoos
-fake snakes
-any other halloween scary things - like cut off body parts, bloody knives etc.

Yesterday, the North Mahaska Student Council members cleaned up a section of the highway and then downtown New Sharon. It was such a beautiful day to be outside!

North Mahaska After Prom has two fundraisers going on right now to help provide a fun and safe after prom for our students and their dates.

-Tote bags - could be used for a variety of things - sports, baby supplies, work bag, and so much more!
- Lasagna Meals - take the night off from cooking! Just pick up your meal, take home and eat! Everyone deserves a night off once in a while!

🧹 🦸‍♂️Happy National School Custodian Appreciation Day ❤️🧹

Today is a great day to recognize the people who often work behind the scenes but make such a huge difference in our schools every single day!

Our custodians do so much more than clean classrooms and hallways. They help keep our buildings safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. They're there early, stay late, fix what needs fixing, clean up the messes nobody else wants to deal with, and somehow always seem to be there when we need them. 😊

As a teacher, parent, student, co-worker, we know how much their work impacts our day. A clean classroom, a stocked bathroom, a warm building, a chair or desk that gets fixed, and all those little things that we sometimes take for granted are possible because of them.

We know we can always count on a smiling face from Ron to start the day, a big smile from Kiah when he never says no, a Will who is always willing to stop what he's doing to help right now, a Deanne who is alway making sure things are where they are supposed to be or a door is locked, a Brady who is there learning the ropes, and all the student helpers in the summer and at nights to get the building ready for the next school year or day.

Thank you is not enough, but thank you for everything you all do for our students, staff and community. Your hard work, dependability, and willingness to help do not go unnoticed! We are incredibly lucky to have you! ❤️

Homecoming 2026 in the books!

Thank you for a wonderful week. A huge shoutout to our JH/HS Student Council members for all the planning that started back in July. We would also like to thank everyone who helped make our homecoming week successful! We had a lot of volunteers help throughout the week and we appreciate it!

Up next is the annual leadership conference in Ames, then the Haunted Hallway and our Veterans Day assembly. Watch for more details as we plan these events!
