Lion president Gerry Roy and Vice president John Disotell of the New Roads Lions Club had the privilege of paying tribute to the senior citizens of our community in New Roads by donating flower bouquets to Pointe Coupee Healthcare and the LaCour House following Mardi Gras yesterday.

The New Roads Mardi Gras proved to be an exceptional celebration this year, marked by favorable weather conditions and an atmosphere of universal enjoyment. To all out-of-town guests, we appreciate your presence and participation in our cherished carnival. Congratulations are also in order for Jase Lebeau, the fortunate winner of the Mardi Gras raffle, with proceeds benefiting all schools that took part in the parade. We invite you to follow us and look forward to your return next year.

Attention all: carnival season is upon us! You are cordially invited to attend our historic Mardi Gras event on February 17th in New Roads. The Carnival Club of Pointe Coupee parade will commence at 10:00 AM, while the New Roads Lions Club parade will begin at 1:00 PM. Road closures along the parade route will commence at 7:45 AM, with complete closure by 9:00 AM. We reccomend arriving early to secure suitable parking. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff and law enforcement work diligently to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Please refer to the parade route map provided in the comments for further guidance.

The New Roads Lions Club and our families got the opportunity today to show our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the New Roads National Guard unit by serving them and their families lunch and providing bounce houses for the children during their annual family day!
