NOAGL The New Orleans Academic Games League NOAGL includes public and private schools in Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Bernard Parishes.

Unlike athletic associations, NOAGL makes no distinctions concerning size of schools. Students play against all other contestants entered for their grade level of competition.

The New Orleans Academic Games League has a long history of success, including with conglomerate teams (formed with players from multiple schools). Here are the 1969 Junior Division Equations national champions—the first team of national Academic Games champions from New Orleans—made up of freshmen.

Front: Paul Puchot (St. Aloysius), Susan McClain (St. Mary's Dominican), Darryl Barthe (St. Augustine); Back: Brother Neal Golden (St. Aloysius moderator), Keith Contreary (St. Aloysius), Gregg DeMar (St. Augustine), Carl Blouin (St. Augustine)

Here is a Clarion Herald article celebrating the team's success after the national tournament.

Dear SCB Families and Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I share this message with our school community. Cindy Parche, a retired SCB teacher and Academic Games Coach, has passed away. Cindy taught for us at SCB for the last 15 years of her teaching career and was heavily involved in our successful Academic Games Team. She attended countless local and national tournaments with our students throughout the years.

Although retired from teaching, Ms. Parche was still on our campus on a regular basis because she continued to volunteer her time to our Academic Games Team. Ms. Parche was dedicated to our Catholic school and had one of the best rapports with students I have ever witnessed. Our community is certainly mourning, and her presence on campus will be missed. We ask that you add Ms. Parche to your prayer intentions.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Sincerely,
Rachel Hafford

We are so proud of our newly selected AGLOA Outstanding Senior Cy Salvant. He has been a shining example for all of our NOAGL students by being a friend and mentor to his fellow competitors but also a coach to our younger players.

Although the Academic Games Leagues of America (AGLOA) did not hold a national tournament this season, the culminating work of its graduating 12th graders who went above and beyond the duties of an average Academic Games competitor did not go unrecognized. Congratulations to our own Cy Salvant of th...

Join AGLOA today as several outstanding seniors will be recognized for their hard work and dedication to promoting Academic Games.

Although we didn't have a national tournament this year, we do have several outstanding 12th graders who missed the culmination of their Academic Games careers.

AGLOA’s Executive Director Rod Beard will announce the winners of the Outstanding Senior awards TODAY, May 2, at 5 p.m (ET) on twitch.tv/academicgames.

Please join us in celebrating our students who have worked so hard in helping their local areas and promoting Academic Games.
