A Hidden Gem of Olde Towne: Community Christian Concern-Janet's Korner Thrift Store 🫂🥘

Celebrating 40 years and counting, this centralized assistance agency is "touching one life at a time" — a motto they live by in every sense of the word.

As they welcome community members from every walk of life, Executive Director Brenda Wright and her team truly put the "neighbor" in neighborhood, offering advocacy services and necessities to individuals and families in crisis.

This organization fosters a connection that promises hugs, kindness, and support in a time of need. They operate the only housing program for homeless men in St. Tammany Parish, as well as a thrift store named Janet's Korner and a food pantry.

Each component of the CCC is a lifecycle of care that keeps families and our community afloat — from personal hygiene items and food to assistance with SNAP benefits and getting back on your feet.

Mr. Rogers said it best: "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

Last night was no ordinary night in Olde Towne Slidell!

White Linen & Lagniappe brought our community together in the best way: crowded streets, warm smiles, and a whole lot of leaux-cal love. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our vendors, artists, and businesses while celebrating what makes this town so special. We can't wait to do it again! 🤍
