Equal Education Fund

Equal Education Fund Equal Education Fund is a scholarship fund that holds monthly mentoring sessions between college undergraduates and college-bound DC public school students

Equal Education Fund (EEF) aims to raise funds for D.C. scholarships, provide voluntary mentorships to students, and increase awareness for the disparity in educational access. We believe in the power of impact. History has taught us how one person can change the world. Our first $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a D.C. public school student with a strong commitment to public service. Jackie R

obinson once said "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." We believe those words to be a representation of our goals at the EEF. When you donate to EEF you know exactly where your money is going and who it is helping. EEF relies on everyday donations and citizens to aid us in achieving our goal. We appreciate any and all donations. Equal Education Fund is a non-profit corporation in the District of Colombia and awaiting tax-exempt 501(c)(3) approval from the IRS. The organization was founded by GWU students Robert Goldburg, Blake Reinken, and Grayson Wormser in May 2017.

The sky is the limit for RuQuan, we couldn't be more proud of his achievements. Keep up the good work!

Equal Education Fund has always stayed out of the political arena, but given the recent events in Minnesota we feel as though we have a responsibility to speak out. Our goal at EEF is to achieve educational equity but there's no way to accomplish that goal when racism remains pervasive. We have failed the students we set out to serve by staying silent. We urge action, and that means stomping out inequality wherever it lives.

While EEF alone can’t solve this issue, we promise to double down on our effort to educate, create dialogue, and most importantly provide equal opportunity for anyone who needs it. We must stand up for all of our brothers and sisters regardless of where they come from or the color of their skin.

EEF’s final meeting was a success! We want to thank all of our mentors and mentees, as well as Dr. Maranda Ward and Promising Futures for all of this years success. Even though our last meeting had to be virtual, we all showed up and made it a great time either way!

We want to say a special congratulations to this year’s 2020 EEF scholarship winners Maya and Octavia, two very deserving Promising Futures seniors. You both have achieved such great things during your high school careers and we know that you are both will continue on as two incredible, strong women in the years to come.

CONGRATS!
