ABOUT THE SHOW
Dracula: The Musical (music by Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton) tells the legendary story of Count Dracula and his journey from Transylvania to England, where his obsession with Mina Murray draws everyone around her into a terrifying struggle between love, temptation, life, and death.

Here’s a look at the principal characters:
COUNT DRACULA
The mysterious and commanding Transylvanian count. Charismatic, seductive, dangerous, and powerful, Dracula is both the villain and the magnetic center of the story. This role requires a strong dramatic presence and a confident singer who can balance menace with vulnerability.
MINA MURRAY
Intelligent, compassionate, strong-willed, and deeply devoted to Jonathan. Mina becomes the focus of Dracula’s obsession and finds herself caught between the life she knows and the strange pull she feels toward him. A strong acting and vocal role with significant emotional range.
JONATHAN HARKER
Mina’s devoted fiancé. Jonathan begins his journey as a respectable young solicitor but quickly discovers that Dracula’s world is far more terrifying than he imagined. Loyal, courageous, romantic, and determined to protect Mina.
LUCY WESTENRA
Mina’s beautiful and spirited friend. Lucy is charming, playful, romantic, and full of life—making her transformation under Dracula’s influence especially haunting. This is a dramatic role requiring both warmth and darkness.
DR. ABRAHAM VAN HELSING
Brilliant, eccentric, fearless, and knowledgeable about the supernatural. Van Helsing recognizes what Dracula truly is and leads the fight against him. A commanding character role with opportunities for both intensity and personality.
DR. JACK SEWARD
A physician who runs the asylum and becomes involved in the battle against Dracula. Intelligent and compassionate, Seward initially looks for rational explanations before being forced to accept that something supernatural is happening.
RENFIELD
A patient in Seward’s asylum who has a mysterious connection to Dracula. Unpredictable, tormented, frightening, and at times strangely sympathetic. A fantastic character role for an actor willing to make bold choices.
ARTHUR HOLMWOOD
Lucy’s devoted suitor. Honorable, loving, and protective, Arthur is devastated by what happens to Lucy and joins the effort to destroy Dracula.
THE VAMPIRES / BRIDES OF DRACULA
Beautiful, eerie, seductive, and deadly. These performers help create the supernatural world surrounding Dracula and may require strong movement, dance, vocal, and character abilities.
QUINCEY MORRIS
A rugged and adventurous American gentleman. Quincey is one of Lucy’s devoted suitors and remains fiercely loyal to her even when she chooses another man. Brave, warm-hearted, confident, and quick to act, he brings a less formal and more daring energy to the group. This role requires a strong stage presence and an actor who can balance charm, sincerity, and heroic courage.
