COPS 2 COPS 2 exists to provide support for the officers of the NOPD Second District.

In 1990, the Citizens Organization for Police Support 2 - COPS 2 -
became the first tax-exempt volunteer organization in New Orleans
dedicated to the support of police officers assigned to the Second District. All dues and donations are used for programs and items designed
to enhance the working lives of our officers

COPS2 regularly helps the New Orleans Police Department's Second District Officers in the following ways :

•Uniform items and professional supplies that must be supplied personally
•Special purchases for the District when specific needs arise such as computers, emergency repairs, etc.; we also funded the Magazine Street scooters that have proven to be very successful
•“Best of the Month” and “Best of the Quarter” awards to recognition excellence in the ranks on a regular basis
•Mardi Gras Meals, which provides food and refreshments to officers,all of whom must work extended shifts during Mardi Gras
