Fifteen years in hospitality. Multiple surgeries. A life completely changed.
When a series of surgeries left Italy permanently disabled and unable to work, our Crisis Grant Program was there to help.
Louisiana's hospitality workers give everything to this industry, and we want you to know we have your back. From mortgage payments to utility bills, the Crisis Grant Program helps hospitality workers navigate life's most difficult moments.
If you or someone you know may qualify, find out at louisianahospitalityfoundation.org/crisis-grants đź”—
"I have been a hospitality employee for over 15 years in Baton Rouge. I have been a recipient for a few grants from this wonderful organization. I want to express my gratitude and how much you have been able to rescue me through the past three years with all my surgeries and shortcomings. My life has completely changed. I am officially disabled, and I can no longer work in the industry or at all. My last surgery has failed and left me completely unwilling to physically take care of myself. I was told about this company through my bosses at Mestizos Louisiana cuisine. I absolutely loved working for them for the past four years, until abruptly, I was rushed to the hospital and was never able to go back physically. From hospital beds to comfort of my own home I found time to apply each year and pray to God something could help my financial situation. I was in the hole, and I never thought I could get out. From mortgage payments to keeping on the lights, I want to personally think you all for helping us get through some of the darkest times of my life. Without this company, I would've been lost and nearly homeless. Thank you for thinking of us. We are small in this world of hospitality. Sometimes people forget about us, no matter how much we do or advocate for each other other. I am truly honored to be a recipient of multiple grants in the past. I am still disabled and unemployed and trying to find my way through the long, dreadful process of disability. But I am hopeful, and God's got me. Thank you for always being here."
