‼️Action Alert & Community Gathering on 5/7‼️: Legislative session is underway until June 12, but there's action you can take today. HB76 is up in committee this Wednesday, May 7, and it's dangerous.

This bill would criminalize people simply for *knowing* that they are living with an STI, even if no transmission happens.

Email the committee now and urge them to vote NO on HB76. https://www.latransadvocates.org/oppose-hb76?emci=0fc2df29-5527-f011-8b3d-6045bded8cca&emdi=61a2aba9-7427-f011-8b3d-6045bded8cca&ceid=386082

You’re also invited to the Capitol on May 7 for LCCH's All In for Access Advocacy Day and Lift Louisiana's Reproductive Freedom Day!

Join us outside or inside the Capitol to learn, connect, and take action in community. There will be healing spaces, food, livestreams, and other community members there to lean on.

State Superintendent Dr. Cade Brumley issued a notice to Louisiana public schools that they did not have to follow President Biden’s guidelines for LGBTQ+ students published over the summer. This is not the answer. We need to be doing a better job serving LGBTQ+ students, not ostracizing them further from their peers. That's why we're asking you to email Superintendent Brumley today to ask him to talk to LGBTQ+ students about their needs in school. Share when you're done!

Monday evening, in a press conference, the Governor announced he wasn't vetoing SB44, the anti-trans sports ban, which allows it to become law.

This is hard. But we want trans* youth to know that you belong here in Louisiana. We urge our community not to let these legislators shame us into hiding. We can't let them take our joy.

Celebrate ! Get into community. Fight back against their hate with our joy.

We'll definitely be sharing information when we have the next steps.
