Milan Golf Scramble Our 10th Milan Golf Scramble will be held at Audubon Golf Course, June 1st, 2019 at 1:00pm benefiting Team Gleason! Thanks to all of you, from all of us.

In 2010 after the BP oil spill, two friends were sitting at the Milan Lounge, a local bar, in Uptown New Orleans, and one t

hing (and one drink) led to another. Next thing you knew, we decided to put on a local golf tournament at the Audubon Golf Course to raise money for Sea Turtle Rescue. A few months later, we donated over $5,000 to the Audubon Nature Institute. In 2011, we successfully raised $15,000 for the Brees Dream Foundation, benefiting our hometown hero's cause advancing research in the fight against cancer and providing care, education and opportunities for children and families in need. The names of people involved are too numerous to mention who have helped us with establishing this tournament. It involves local uptown folks, bar owners, waiters, company executives, consultants, salesman, and most of all, friends. Our aspirations are big, but more important than that, is the sincerity of our efforts. Not in just raising money for a good cause, but by having a wonderful time with great people, who share a unique part of New Orleans together. Not everyone who lives in uptown New Orleans is who you may think, in fact, there is an entire subculture of people who–regardless of race, class, political views, age, gender, wealth–one or two nights a week, sit down at any one of a number of local bars uptown, and enjoy an hour or two with strangers who are friends. We are family in a way that can not be explained here. So we appreciate all donations, participation, raffle prizes, help, and time anybody puts in volunteering for this awesome event raising money for a great cause, and having a hell of a good time doing it. Though there are too many people to thank individually for their friendship, time, and hard work and effort to make this tournament possible, we would be amiss not to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Dave McCammon, and Ms. Lydia Benson. You guys are the best. And to Miss Mary K. Elkins, a special thank you for volunteering your time and talents to design our logo and banners. This year all proceeds are being donated to Team Gleason.
