AI has settled into the background of our homes - perhaps even more present to our kids than we even realize. It is always there, ready with an instant answer the moment we ask. And as parents, it is easy to reach for that convenience. When life feels overwhelming, when our kids push every button we have, when we are tired and stretched thin, the speed can feel like a gift.

But answers come fast, and wisdom does not. An answer tells us what to do next. Wisdom shapes who we are becoming - the kind of parent who walks closely with God and learns to discern what is right even when no quick answer exists. That is grown over time, through prayer and Scripture and counsel, and there is no shortcut to it.

The concern is not the technology. AI is a useful tool, and it can genuinely help us think, plan, and understand. What concerns us is what forms in a heart that gets used to going somewhere else first. Proverbs 3:5-6 puts it plainly: trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. We rarely decide to stop trusting God. It happens by habit, in the hundred small moments where something else is simply closer. And our children are learning their reflexes from ours. They will remember what Mom did when she didn't know what to do.
