Boys Town Louisiana is incredibly grateful to Crescent Bank for their Financial Readiness Partnership, bringing financial literacy education to Early Head Start parents and Successful Futures participants.

With Crescent Bank’s support, we are launching a Financial Readiness Fund to help reduce common barriers to participation—covering transportation, meals, workshop materials, participant incentives, and other supports that help families and young people take part and benefit from the program.

Crescent Bank team members will help deliver practical guidance on budgeting, saving, banking, credit, and financial decision-making for parents and young people working toward greater stability.

Together, we are helping families and young people build financial skills and create stronger, more secure futures! 💙💛

Few children tell their parents or other adults when they are being bullied online, and they often suffer the negative effects in silence. If you find out your child is being cyberbullied, don't confiscate their devices. Advocate and collect evidence, when appropriate. This may be needed when bringing the bullying to the school's attention.

Today, we pause to reflect on Juneteenth and honor freedom, resilience, and the ongoing work of building a more just future.

We are grateful for the opportunity to come together in community—to celebrate culture, remember history, and recognize both the progress made and the work still ahead.

Happy Juneteenth from Boys Town Louisiana!

Boys Town founder Father Edward J. Flanagan was known during World War II as “America’s Number One War Dad” because hundreds of Boys Town kids listed him as their next of kin when they enlisted. To many of those boys, Father Flanagan was the only “father” they had ever known.

June is National Safety Month, and Boys Town Louisiana is reminding families this time of year can also bring added risks—from heat and sun exposure to water safety and summer travel.

These simple steps can make a big difference:

💧 Stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat
🏊‍♂️ Always supervise children around water
🧴 Protect against sun with sunscreen and shade
🚗 Talk with teens about safe driving habits

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping summer safe and enjoyable for everyone! 🌞

It starts with learning, growing, and showing up. 💙💛

In 2025, 13 families and caregivers joined Boys Town Louisiana’s Common Sense Parenting classes and built on their strengths while learning new ways to support their children.

With practical tools and ongoing support, parents gain confidence in handling everyday challenges, strengthening communication, and creating more stable, positive home environments.

✨ When families feel stronger, children have the chance to truly thrive!
