And that's not all! 🎂🎁 While all of this was happening, Tina was busy preparing 14 SPECIAL BIRTHDAY GIFTS to help make some students' birthdays extra memorable! 🥳🎉

A HUGE thank you to Liberty Self Storage for donating TWO storage units to Our Friends Closet — one in Mandeville and one in Slidell! 📦✨

Liberty Self Storage provides us with complimentary storage space, and honestly, it makes what we do possible!

Because of their incredible generosity, we have the space we need to stock and organize the hygiene products, school supplies, uniforms and so much more.

Without Liberty Self Storage, we simply wouldn't be able to stock all the supplies we need for the students we serve.

Community partnerships like this make such a difference! ❤️

“Wendy’s Three Week Escape & Tina’s Marathon of Responsibilities”

🚨 BREAKING OFC NEWS 🚨
Wendy has been out of town for weeks, leaving Tina to fend for herself with nothing but grit, a big smile, and a very full calendar and fending for herself in the wild world of pick ups, drop offs, and daily OFC shenanigans.

But don’t worry — before skipping town, Wendy used determination, hard work, and strategic planning worthy of a NASA launch to create and schedule all of OFC’s social media posts.

Meanwhile, Tina did a great job representing Our Friends Closet at:
• East St. Tammany Business Alliance annual awards luncheon (9/17/2026)
• The Rotary Club of Slidell check presentation for Heritage Fest grant recipients (9/18/2026)
• Speed Connection - a speed networking event to introduce young professionals in our community to local nonprofits (9/22/2026)
• The Nonna Randazzo’s Bakery 20th Anniversary Grant Reception (9/24/2026)
• Presenting a HUGE collaborative grant project to the Northshore Community Foundation (9/29/2026)

So while Wendy was off adventuring, Tina was holding down the fort… and the content is still rolling like clockwork. Teamwork makes the dream work — even from 6,700 miles away.

✨ MOST NEEDED ITEM OF THE WEEK! ✨🍎 🍪

This week, we’re on the hunt for SNACKS. SNACKS. SNACKS! Individually wrapped, easy to share, and essential for students who need a little boost during the day.

Schools reach out constantly asking for snacks — because hunger shouldn’t stand in the way of learning. And for some children, these snacks are the only food they may have access to in the evenings or on weekends. These small items help sustain them when there’s nothing else available.

✨Granola bars
✨Crackers
✨Fruit snacks
✨Chips
✨Cookies
✨Individual Mac N Cheese
✨Ramen noodles
Every single pack makes a difference.

Snacks = happy students. Happy students = better days at school. It’s a small thing that makes a big impact — helping students stay focused, feel supported, and get through long stretches when food isn’t guaranteed.

💛 Let’s keep our students fueled, focused, and cared for — every day of the week.

This week, Our Friends Closet was busy making deliveries and spreading a little extra love to students across our communities!

From essential hygiene products, socks, underwear, uniform pants and shirts to SNACKS (and we mean PLENTY of snacks! 😋), we’re helping students feel confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.

Here’s where we’ve been making a difference:
💥 Folsom Jr. High – Uniform pants, clothing, and snacks!
💥 Folsom Elementary – Snacks to keep those little tummies happy!
💥 Salmen High School – Uniform shirts, hoodies, sports bras, and socks!
💥 Chalmette High School – Taking our mission across Lake Pontchartrain to support even more students!

Every delivery represents more than just supplies. It’s a reminder to students that their community cares, that they are supported, and that they deserve to walk into school feeling confident and ready to succeed. ❤️

💙 Our Friends Closet + Northshore Food Bank: The HUB Journey! 💙

We’re thrilled to share that Our Friends Closet, in partnership with Northshore Food Bank, was selected as one of three finalists for the Northshore Community Foundation Collaborative Grant!

Our project — The HUB — is a student‑centered collaboration at three high schools, combining food and hygiene resources in one confidential, easy‑access location for students in need.

Out of 25 incredible applicants, we made it to the final round and presented our vision in a “Shark Tank”‑style pitch before judges and a packed crowd.

While we didn’t take home the grant this time, the experience was nothing short of amazing. Working side‑by‑side with the Northshore Food Bank and connecting with other passionate community leaders reminded us that collaboration is the true win.

🦷✨ MOST NEEDED ITEM OF THE WEEK! ✨🦷

This week, we’re on the hunt for:
🦷Toothbrushes
🦷Toothpaste
🦷Mouthwash(non alcoholic)
🦷FLOSS!

🪥Fresh smiles matter — and the schools ask for dental care items all the time.🪥
A clean, confident smile can change a student’s whole day.

Clean teeth = confidence.
Confidence = better days at school.

It’s a small thing that makes a big impact and these simple items make a huge difference because healthy smile helps a child shine — in the classroom and beyond.
