💙 Before you judge a child... read this. 💙

As another school year begins, this powerful poem, "I Woke Myself Up" by Joshua T. Dickerson, reminds us that every child has a story we may never know.

For some students, getting to school is an incredible accomplishment. They may have already faced challenges before the first bell even rings—caring for younger siblings, going without electricity, missing meals, or not having the basic hygiene items and school supplies so many of us take for granted.

We believe every child deserves to walk into school with dignity, confidence, and hope and you can help make that happen.

Here are a few ways to support local homeless and low-income students:
🎒 Donate needed items.

💳 Make a financial donation.
Give online, through Venmo, PayPal, or the Donate button on our page. Financial gifts allow us to purchase the items students need most—often at bulk pricing.

❤️It takes a community to care for our students! ❤️

Today, we're excited to welcome counselors and teachers from Tangipahoa Parish to our Mandeville storage unit, where they'll be able to "shop" for much-needed hygiene items for their students.

A huge THANK YOU to Liberty Self Storage for generously providing the space that allows us to store and organize these essential items. Their support makes it possible for us to serve schools and students throughout our community.

By inviting counselors and teachers to come directly to our storage unit, we're able to ensure they receive exactly what they know their students need most. They work with these children every day and understand the unique challenges many families face, so this approach helps us put the right items into the right hands.

Every toothbrush, stick of deodorant, bar of soap, bottle of shampoo, and other hygiene essential helps restore confidence, dignity, and the ability for a child to focus on learning instead of worrying about basic necessities.

🌟 BIG DAY in Bay St. Louis & Waveland! 🌟

Today is officially Day One of Our Friends Closet delivering much‑needed hygiene products to less fortunate students in the Bay St. Louis and Waveland area — and we could not be more excited!

Wendy and Tina were up early, loading the car before sunrise because they simply couldn’t wait to get started. Their first stops: 🏫 Waveland Elementary 🏫 North Bay Elementary 🏫 Bay‑Waveland Middle School 🏫 Bay High School

💛 This expansion means hundreds more students will have access to the everyday dignity items that help them feel confident, cared for, and ready to learn. And today… it begins.
