Mentoring Young Women of CROWN

Mentoring Young Women of CROWN Academic & Personal Coaching for teen girls C.R.O.W.N. has four components: Academics, Leadership, Service, and Mentoring.

Mentoring Young Women of Character, Respect, Optimism, Wisdom, and Nobleness aims to empower and enlighten young women of color in the ninth grade through Academics, Leadership, Service, and Mentoring. The program is a four year commitment in hopes of building a lasting relationship with community leaders, college students, and mentors that will increase mentee's expectations and goals. From group

activities, academic support, personal and professional workshops, and community services, the “C.R.O.W.N experience” enhances a young woman's life educationally, professionally, and personally. Each component contributes to necessary skills to become a well-rounded, engaged leader in their communities. Academic academy promotes academic excellence and high scholastic achievements, reinforcing and enhancing concepts learned in the classroom. Group activities reinforces the idea that constant communication between mentor and mentee develops a nurturing relationship. Service to Others provides students with the necessary leadership skills to serve not only themselves but their community. Leadership development consists of both professional development and personal development to encourage self love as well as develop the necessary skills and experiences to become leaders. They will learn what it takes to not only live but thrive in a world of their own that involves passion and service.
