Meet the people behind the work. 💜

This month, we’re spotlighting Elise Gallinot Goldman, Executive Director at KID smART, who reflects on why creative expression and experiential learning matter at every age during her class with Allison Stewart !

From letting go of self-judgment to giving ourselves permission to experiment, Elise shares why making art isn’t just for kids—and why adults deserve space to explore, learn, and create, too.

As we continue growing programming at the KID smART Center for Arts & Education, we’re excited to share more stories from the people shaping this work. Next up, we’ll turn the spotlight toward our incredible Teaching Artists!

The New Orleans Arts Education Access Map Is Here! ♥️📍

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to build the New Orleans Arts Education Access Map, and this morning, Brooke and Marisol joined Shelby Latino to talk about it!! ✨

The Map gives us a clearer picture of arts education opportunities connected to schools across Orleans Parish. Arts education opportunities exist across New Orleans, but access isn’t always distributed evenly. By making this information easier to see, we can better understand where opportunities exist, where gaps remain, and where there’s room to strengthen access.📢

The Map is more than a resource, it’s an advocacy tool for families, schools and educators, arts organizations, funders, and community leaders.

And this work is bigger than the Map.

The Map gives us a clearer picture. NOAEA gives us a way to act on what we see.

Through the New Orleans Arts Education Alliance (NOAEA), we’re bringing the field back together to turn what we’re learning into connection, resources, advocacy, and action.

Explore the Map. Learn more about NOAEA. Join us in building a stronger arts education ecosystem for New Orleans. ⬆️🔗

💜 The final count is in and WE DID IT! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and the Azby Fund doubling down on creativity we raised $150,000 toward our Creativity at the Center Campaign!!!

We are so grateful to everyone who gave, shared, encouraged, and showed up to help make this match possible. Every gift brings us closer to building a sustainable home for creativity, learning, and connection at the KID smART Center for Arts & Education.

And a huge thank-you to the donors who helped make this moment happen. 💜

This is what happens when we build together. And we’re just getting started. 🎨✨

The work has begun! 🎨📚

We’re so excited to kick off the 2026–27 school year with our incredible Creative Schools! Our Teaching Artists are getting classrooms ready, setting up spaces, and heading back into schools to create, learn, and collaborate alongside educators and students.

Through Creative Schools, we bring arts-integrated learning into the classroom, while AXIS gives educators opportunities to explore new strategies, build their practice, and grow as creative educators.

And those signs going up? 👀 That means you’re officially a Creative School!

Stay tuned to meet our new Teaching Artists and see what they’re bringing to classrooms this year! 💜
