ART JAM is almost here! 🎨✨

KID smART Executive Director Elise Gallinot Goldman joined FOX 8 Morning Edition and Shelby Latino this morning to talk all things ART JAM—our free, all-ages celebration of creativity, community, and the arts at the KID smART Center for Arts & Education!

KID smART U is a Foundational Art Training series and next up is YES! And…, a four-week theatre improvisation course with multidisciplinary artist and educator Blanca Del Loco! ✨

Over four Thursdays, participants will explore the fundamentals of improvisation through theatre games, improvised monologues, short-form scenes, and long-form storytelling. Build confidence, sharpen your creative instincts, and embrace the joy of saying “yes, and!”

September 10, 17, 24 & October 1
5–6:30 PM | Ages 18+ | $100 for all four weeks

No prior acting experience required — just a willingness to try something new, get a little silly, and create together.

Today, our Teaching Artists kicked off the first of several professional development sessions with ELLipsis, building our team’s skills and knowledge to better support and serve English Language Learners. 💛

Two principles from today’s training really stood out:

✨ We are all EL teachers!
✨ What works best for EL students works best for all students!

This meaningful professional development opportunity was made possible through the generous support of Courtney and Duffy Jones. We’re so grateful for their investment in our Teaching Artists and in creating more inclusive learning experiences for every student.

KID smART U is launching its Foundational Art Training series with Cultivate & Create: Mixed Media, a four-week visual arts course with artist Jessie Vogel Brown! ✨

Over four Thursdays, participants will build foundational skills while exploring a new medium each week, from India ink and acrylic painting to monoprinting and plaster reliefs.
