Tuesday, October 6, 2026 – “WHEN WISDOM GOVERNS YOUR LIFE” | Proverbs 20–23 | Pastor Dr. Donald R. Jones | Bethesda House of Prayer LIVE

 Key Scriptures: Proverbs 20:7 • 21:2–3 • 22:1, 6 • 23:23, 26

Tonight we're continuing our journey through Proverbs with one question:

 WHO GOVERNS YOUR HEART?
Proverbs 20–23 takes wisdom into everyday life—our character, choices, children, money, relationships, appetites, discipline, integrity, and motives.

We often ask God to change what's happening around us, while God is working on who's holding the steering wheel inside us. Bible Study PROVERBS 20 to 23

Proverbs 23:26 brings us to the heart of the lesson:

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

God doesn't simply want us to fix the fruit—our words, spending, temper, habits, and choices. He wants to transform the root.

When God transforms the heart, the life begins to change.

✝️ Sunday, September 27, 2026 – “WHAT’S REALLY FIRST?” | Matthew 6:19–34 | Pastor Dr. Donald R. Jones | Bethesda House of Prayer LIVE

📖 Key Scriptures:
• Matthew 6:21–24, 33
• Colossians 1:17–19
• Acts 2:38

We all say we have priorities—but if someone examined our time, attention, money, conversations, and decisions, what would our lives say is really first?

People are important. Family is a blessing. Careers, homes, education, success, and possessions can all be good things. But:

🔥 A good thing in God’s place becomes a god thing.
Jesus doesn't simply want to be included somewhere in our lives. He must have preeminence. Everything else—family, career, money, ambitions, relationships—must come under His authority. SERMON: WHAT'S REALLY FIRST

🔥 The Kingdom isn't first on the list. The Kingdom governs the list.
Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”

So today, ask yourself:
WHAT’S REALLY FIRST?

💬 COMMENT: “JESUS FIRST!”

✝️ Tuesday, September 22, 2026 – “A LIFE YOU CAN TRUST: SELF-CONTROL, INTEGRITY, DILIGENCE & GODLY CHARACTER” | Proverbs 20 | Pastor Dr. Donald R. Jones | Bethesda House of Prayer LIVE

📖 Key Scriptures:
Proverbs 20:1 • 20:3–7 • 20:18–19 • 20:22 • 20:24–27

🧡 Tonight’s Bible Study:
Proverbs 20 gives us a character inspection. It challenges us to look beyond what we say about ourselves and examine what our lives consistently prove.

🔥 Character is not what you advertise about yourself; it is what your repeated behavior proves about you.

Tonight we're examining self-control, integrity, diligence, honesty, conflict, wise counsel, forgiveness, keeping our word, and the legacy we're leaving behind.

Proverbs reminds us that anybody can claim to be trustworthy—but faithfulness is demonstrated through consistency over time.

And what we build in our character doesn't affect only us:

🔥 Your children may spend your money, but they can reproduce your character.

God isn't simply concerned about how our lives look on the outside. Like an inspector examining the foundation of a house, God is concerned about what's beneath the surface.

💬 TONIGHT’S QUESTION:
If Proverbs 20 performed a character inspection on your life today, what would it find?

✝️ Tuesday, September 15, 2026 – “DON’T LET YOUR EMOTIONS OUTRUN YOUR WISDOM” | Proverbs 18–19 | Pastor Dr. Donald R. Jones | Bethesda House of Prayer LIVE

📖 Key Scriptures:
Proverbs 18:2 • Proverbs 18:13 • Proverbs 18:21 • Proverbs 19:2–3 • Proverbs 19:11 • Proverbs 19:20–21

🧡 Tonight’s Bible Study:
Tonight we continue our journey through Proverbs with practical wisdom for our decisions, emotions, relationships, words, integrity, and ability to hear God’s direction.

🔥 Don’t let your mouth outrun your understanding. Don’t let your emotions outrun your wisdom. And don’t let your plans outrun God.

Proverbs reminds us that strong feelings are not automatically a word from God. We can be sincere, excited, passionate—and still be wrong. Wisdom slows down long enough to listen, investigate, pray, seek counsel, and test what we're sensing against God's Word.

And sometimes we blame God for consequences our own decisions helped create. Before asking, “God, why did You let this happen?” wisdom sometimes requires us to ask, “What part did my decisions play?”

Tonight we'll also discover why every offense doesn't deserve a response, why true friendship is revealed in adversity, why words can either wound or restore, and why God's purpose remains even when our plans change.

🔥 A closed door does not always mean failure. Sometimes God is changing the route without changing the purpose.

💡 Key Truths:
• Wisdom listens before answering
• Words are not magic—but words are powerful
• A strong feeling is not necessarily a word from God
• Speed is not a substitute for direction
• Maturity doesn't have to answer every offense
• Today's correction can become tomorrow's wisdom
• We make plans—but God's purpose stands

💬 TONIGHT’S QUESTION:
Am I being led by God—or am I simply reacting to what I feel?

✝️ Tuesday, September 8, 2026 – “GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY, HUMAN PLANNING & THE DANGER OF PRIDE” | Proverbs 16–18 | Pastor Dr. Donald R. Jones | Bethesda House of Prayer LIVE

📖 Key Scriptures:
Proverbs 16:3 • Proverbs 16:9 • Proverbs 16:18 • Proverbs 17:17 • Proverbs 18:13 • Proverbs 18:21

🧡 Tonight’s Bible Study:
We make plans—but God directs our steps. Tonight, we continue our journey through Proverbs with practical wisdom for our decisions, relationships, conversations, friendships, and everyday Christian lives.

Proverbs 16–18 challenges us to submit our plans to God, recognize the danger of pride, practice self-control, forgive without continually reopening old wounds, listen before answering, and understand the tremendous influence of our words.

🔥 “God, don’t just bless what I already decided—guide what I am deciding.”

Sometimes pressure doesn't create what's inside us—it reveals it. Sometimes silence is wiser than having an opinion on everything. And sometimes the first version of a story sounds completely right—until we hear the other side.

Our words matter, too.

Every conversation can present us with a choice:

🔥 Will I carry gasoline—or water? 💧

Will my words make the fire bigger, or will I bring wisdom, understanding, encouragement, truth, and healing?

Words are not magic—but words are powerful.

💡 Key Truths:
• Human plans must remain submitted to God's sovereignty
• Pride can be an early warning sign before destruction
• Self-control is greater than controlling others
• Adversity reveals genuine friendship
• Wisdom knows when silence is better than speech
• Listen before answering
• Hear both sides before reaching conclusions
• Our words can wound—or help restore
• Jesus Christ perfectly embodies godly wisdom

💬 TONIGHT’S QUESTION:
When conflict comes, which bucket are you carrying—gasoline or water? 🔥💧
