Mary and Dewey Hunter moved to Seattle from Arkansas and Oklahoma in the 1940s. They built a legacy of “Family helping Family” and “Family helping Friends.”
We, the descendants of Mary and Dewey Hunter are continuing their legacy by the implementation of a Mary and Dewey Hunter Family Scholarship Fund.
This fund will be used to award scholarships to family members (High School Graduates) who best exemplify the family values, principles, and ethics that Mary and Dewey Hunter lived by.
We are asking friends of the Hunter family to support our Scholarship fund by making a donation. Any amount is appreciated.

James A. Davis Jr. Memorial Scholarship

My reason for reaching out to you is to make you aware of our efforts to start the James A. Davis Jr. Memorial Scholarship at Roosevelt High School in Seattle. Our goal is to award two $5,000 scholarships each year in perpetuity to economically disadvantage students of color from RHS, who are looking to continue their education by attending a college, trade school or other professional training.

The James A. Davis Jr. scholarship will recognize two students of color who represent the values and principles of James while promoting a culture of racial equality at RHS.

Mary and Dewey Hunter Family Scholarship
Bar-B-Q Dinner Fundraiser
Saturday, August 29th 2020 11-5PM

Mary and Dewey Hunter moved to Seattle from Arkansas/Oklahoma along with their (8) children in the 1940s. They built a legacy of “Family Helping Family” and “Family Helping Friends”.

We the descendants of Mary and Dewey Hunter are working to continue their legacy by creating a “Mary and Dewey Hunter Family Scholarship and Support Fund”.

This fund will be used to award scholarships to those family members (High School Graduates) who best exemplifies the family values, principals and ethics that Mary and Dewey Hunter lived by. We are asking family members and friends of the Hunter Family to support our Scholarship fund by either buying a BBQ Dinner or Donating a Dinner to support a family friend.

Donated Dinners will be given to the Holgate Church of Christ (Emergency Feeding Fund).

The Old School Social Group is initiating a fundraising drive to help those in need. We the OSSG are asking for your support. Any amount is appreciated!! The funds will be given to those in need to help with the purchasing of food and to help pay their bills.
