Dr. Daniel Miles is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in trauma. Joel Demers is a paramedic with 30 years of experience in community-based, commercial, critical care EMS, and EMS education. He currently serves as the EMS Education Coordinator for a state Department of Public Health while continuing to work in the field as a practicing paramedic and clinical preceptor in New York State.

Drawing on decades of frontline experience, Joel will explore one of the most thought-provoking questions in emergency medicine: *Is Dead Really Dead?* This engaging presentation will challenge conventional thinking and spark meaningful discussion for EMS professionals, nurses, physicians, educators, and anyone involved in trauma care.
