Last month, GNOEA members enjoyed a special Site Visit at St. Roch Market, hosted by GNOEA member and owner Kevin Pedeaux.

Thank you, Kevin, for welcoming us and giving members a closer look at this unique New Orleans space—an inviting setting for gathering, dining and connecting with the local community.

We also enjoyed coffee from CR Coffee and breakfast from one of St. Roch Market’s vendors. A great morning of networking and experiencing another local business firsthand!

A big thank you to Rene Louapre of Hogs for the Cause for joining the Greater New Orleans Executives’ Association this morning!

Rene shared the incredible story and history behind Hogs for the Cause—and, most importantly, the tremendous impact the organization has made on families and children over the years. It was a powerful testament to just how many lives this organization and its supporters have touched.

We’re also proud that longtime GNOEA members Stanton Murray, Jesse Hoppes and Paul Cosma are actively involved with teams that help raise money for this important cause.

Thank you to Edward Michel, The New Orleans Inspector General, for speaking to the Greater New Orleans Executives Association on Tuesday morning.

Mr. Michel shared the 2025 Annual Report and spoke candidly about the work of the Office of Inspector General, including investigations related to recent elected official indictments, NOPD timekeeping and overtime practices, OPSO off-duty details, and Mardi Gras pay.

The Office of Inspector General serves as an independent, nonpartisan body working to prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in City government.

Thank you to GNOEA member Otto Briede and Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home for hosting a GNOEA Breakfast Meeting and visitation on February 10 at their beautiful Canal Street facility.

Otto shared valuable insights about shifts and trends in the funeral industry and provided thoughtful tips based on his many years of experience serving families in the New Orleans community.

Thank you to Delgado Community College and Chancellor Larissa Littleton-Steib Phd for hosting a GNOEA Breakfast Meeting on campus on February 3.

Dr. Littleton-Steib shared exciting updates about the college’s growing enrollment and the expansion of key programs including nursing, business, and skilled trades. She also highlighted the significant financial advantages for high school graduates who begin their core curriculum at Delgado before transferring to a four-year university.

Thank you to Rafael C. Goyeneche III, President of the Metropolitan Crime Commission, for joining GNOEA and delivering an informative and candid presentation.

With more than four decades of leadership, Mr. Goyeneche discussed the Commission’s privately funded, citizen-driven mission to expose public corruption and strengthen the administration of justice to improve quality of life across Louisiana. He shared detailed statistics and reports involving the New Orleans Police Department, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, and the former New Orleans Mayor’s Office.

His frank discussion sparked thoughtful dialogue, and he took time to answer numerous questions from members. An engaging and eye-opening conversation on accountability, transparency, and civic responsibility.
