On this day 15 years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall, devastating parts of Southeast Louisiana. Today, 15 years later, West Louisiana and East Texas are continuing to assess the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura this past Thursday Morning. But just like every other natural disaster that comes our way, the people of Louisiana continue to show their resilience, courage, and compassion in helping rebuild our communities, cities, and state. As it was in the past with both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, the road ahead will be long and not easy, but we know we’ll be back and better than ever as long as we remain

Through this series, our aim is to help current members and alumni of PBL share their experiences, personal growth, and love for an organization that continues to positively impact students lives everyday.

Today’s spotlight is on Disha Patel, who currently serves as the Louisiana PBL Vice President of FBLA-PBL Relations.

Introducing your 2020-21 LA VP of Communications Ebonee Swann. Ebonee is currently studying Computer Information Systems at Grambling State University. Her past PBL experience includes serving as the 2019-20 LA PBL VP of Communications and current President at her local chapter. Ebonee would like to make this year about improvement. She says that we all need to think of long term goals outside of college to better help us as a person.

Introducing your 2020-21 LA PBL VP of FBLA-PBL Relations, Disha Patel. Disha is currently studying Accounting at McNeese State University. Her past experience in PBL includes serving as the 2019-20 LA PBL VP of FBLA-PBL Relations and the 2019-20 Vice President of the local chapter at SOWELA. Outside of PBL, Disha helps out with her family’s business and enjoys taking on social media projects.

Introducing your 2020-2021 VP of Membership Meaghan Quebedeaux. She is currently attending SOWELA Technical Community College where she is pursuing an Associates in business administration and accounting technology. She served as her local chapter’s 2019-2020 Director of Finance followed by the 2020-2021 local chapter president. She is currently employed by chase Bank where she is an associate banker. After Meaghan graduates she wants to be a hotel manager.

Introducing your 2020-21 Louisiana PBL State President, Travis McConathy. Travis is currently studying Mass Communications at McNeese State University. His past participation in PBL includes serving as both the 2019-20 LA PBL Vice President of Membership and the 2018-19 Secretary/Treasurer. In addition to the State Team, he also served as the 2019-20 PBL National Secretary. Outside of PBL, Travis works as an Associate Producer at his local news station, KPLC-TV. His advice for members during this upcoming year is to take every opportunity that you can, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone.
