Today is our Annual GreenSox Shootout, a day that holds so many emotions.

What began because of the unimaginable loss of our sweet Buddy has become something so much bigger than us. It is a day to honor his life, remember his journey, raise awareness for DIPG, and help families who are currently facing the fight of their lives.

As I sit here this morning, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Gratitude for every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, donor, supporter, family member, and friend who has chosen to stand beside us. Your support allows us to continue Buddy’s legacy by providing hope, financial assistance, and love to families battling DIPG.

I wish with everything in me that there was no reason for this event to exist. I wish Buddy was here making us laugh and enjoying this day with us. But since we cannot change our story, we have chosen to make a difference through it.

Today, we celebrate Buddy. We honor every child affected by DIPG. We remember those we have lost, support those still fighting, and continue working toward a future where no family has to hear the words, “Your child has DIPG.”

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this day possible. Your kindness, generosity, and belief in our mission mean more than words can ever express.

Buddy, this is all for you. Your love continues to guide us, inspire us, and bring people together. Your legacy lives on in every life touched today.

💚This Saturday, June 20th is our annual GreenSox Shootout, our largest fundraiser for the foundation. It is a day when we come together to remember and honor Buddy, raise awareness and funds for DIPG, to provide financial assistance to families who so desperately need support during the fight of their lives.

As we inch closer day by day, the emotions are heavy.

I find myself torn between the heartbreaking reality of why this foundation exists and the overwhelming gratitude of seeing so many people come together, believe in our mission, and stand beside us in helping others. The tears I carry are split between unimaginable heartbreak and immense pride.

There is such a fine line between the comfort of knowing Buddy’s legacy continues to make a difference and the devastation of having to live each day without him.

The only thing that could make this journey even harder would be walking it without the love and support of our family, friends, communities, and even strangers who have become part of Team Buddy Forever. Your kindness has carried us through some of our darkest days.

While grief never leaves, neither does love.

As we continue to navigate this difficult journey, we remain beyond grateful for the unwavering support you continue to show our family, our foundation, and the families battling DIPG. Because of you, Buddy’s light continues to shine, hope continues to grow, and lives continue to be touched.

Thank you for remembering Buddy. Thank you for honoring him. Thank you for helping us turn heartbreak into purpose.
