❤ We're incredibly grateful to the McPhee Foundation for its generous $10,000 grant in support of our mission!

This meaningful investment helps us continue providing emergency shelter, essential resources, and a pathway toward permanent, stable housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community.

🎃 Pumpkin painting brought a little extra fun to Covenant Shelter of New London today!

For kids, it was all about colorful pumpkins, creativity, and making happy memories. For parents, it was an opportunity to slow down and take a break from the stress and uncertainty that can come with navigating housing insecurity.

At Covenant Shelter, we believe that shelter is about more than a place to sleep. It’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where families can connect, find moments of joy, and simply be families.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to Impact100 Southern Connecticut!

We were thrilled to welcome Lucille Pelletier, President of Impact100 Southern Connecticut, to Covenant Shelter of New London as she presented the remaining balance of their generous $100,000 grant!

This incredible investment in our mission is helping us continue to provide essential services, including stocking our kitchens and preparing nutritious meals for the individuals and families who call Covenant Shelter home.

🏠 Yesterday, Covenant staff had the pleasure of attending the Center for Housing Opportunity Eastern Connecticut and the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut's panel discussion on the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and what it means for affordable housing in Eastern Connecticut.

At Covenant Shelter of New London, we see firsthand how the shortage of affordable housing affects individuals and families experiencing homelessness. While emergency shelter provides immediate safety and stability, access to permanent, affordable housing is essential to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

🍂 October is a Busy Month at Covenant Shelter!

This month, our calendar is packed with opportunities for growth, learning, and creativity!

From employment, housing, and financial workshops that help adults build skills and work toward greater independence, to fun, hands-on CREATE activities that bring kids and adults together through art, music, and imagination.

At Covenant Shelter, we're doing more than providing shelter. We're creating opportunities for individuals and families to learn, grow, and thrive!

🎃 Halloween fun at Covenant!

Through our new CREATE Recreation Program, the children staying at Covenant Shelter enjoyed an afternoon of cookie decorating, popcorn, and Halloween music.

We're proud to be the only emergency shelter in Southeastern Connecticut to welcome families with minor children. For the children we serve, creating moments of joy and normalcy matters!

CREATE (Collaboration • Recreation • Enrichment • Art • Talent • Expression) is a new enrichment program that connects residents with artists, musicians, makers, educators, and community volunteers. Through hands-on activities, classes, demonstrations, and other unique experiences, CREATE provides children and adults experiencing homelessness with welcoming opportunities to explore creativity, learn new skills, discover new interests, and connect with one another.

CREATE includes two program tracks: CREATE Kids and CREATE Adults, each designed to provide age-appropriate creative experiences while giving residents the opportunity to learn, express themselves, and build confidence.

⛪️❤️ We had such a wonderful time at Mission Sunday with the congregation at Mystic Congregational Church!

It was such a joy to spend time getting to know everyone, sharing a meal, and simply enjoying the opportunity to eat and mingle together. We were grateful to share more about Covenant Shelter, the mission behind our work, the people we serve, and some of the challenges our residents face.

Most of all, we want to say thank you. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to connect, share our mission, and be part of such a welcoming community.
