What a wonderful day to explore historic Hampstead! Members of the New Kent Patriots Chapter, NSDAR, were delighted to join the Abraham Brown Chapter, SAR, and the New Kent Historical Society for an engaging tour of one of New Kent’s treasured historic sites. We are grateful for opportunities to learn, preserve, and share our local history together.

“Thank you to everyone who helped make this memorable day possible!”

It was both an honor and a pleasure to participate in our community’s commemoration of America’s 250th Anniversary alongside members of the New Kent Patriots Chapter, NSDAR, the New Kent Historical Society, and the Abraham Brown Chapter, SAR.

My sincere appreciation to Heather Mae Donbrosky and her team for organizing such a beautiful and meaningful evening that celebrated our shared history and the enduring spirit of our community.

The event served as a wonderful reminder that ordinary communities can play an extraordinary role in our nation’s story. As we commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary, we are especially mindful that the story of our nation began here in Virginia. Indeed, America was made in Virginia.

As Daughters of the American Revolution, we are honored to help preserve our nation’s history, promote education, and inspire patriotism. We look forward to continuing to partner with our community as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding and honor the legacy of those whose courage and sacrifice secured the blessings of liberty for future generations.
